GOP Lunatic Fringe Still At It

With a seething hate filled tirade, a poster child of the old Republican Guard that makes up the core of the GOP once again demonstrates the Republican Party’s attraction of the less than tolerant, small minded and mentally unbalance fridge that still seeks to hold on to the elitism that fueled America’s racist past. During a GOP sponsored town-hall meeting hosted by Congressman Mike Castel, an audience member with a supposed copy of President Obama’s birth certificate in hand shouted wildly about the illegitimacy of the President’s citizenship. The audience member’s psychotic rant was applauded, even as the Congressmen Castle refuted the claim.   

Despite the fact that it has been extensively and thoroughly researched and found not to be true, the radical and lunatic fringe of the GOP continue to propagate the ridiculous myth that President Obama is not legally a U.S. citizen. Whether it is through conscious choice or delusions born out of fear of change, one thing is clear by the loud applause, by the audience of this GOP gathering, it is that there are many individuals in the Republican Party who will grasp at anything in order to slow down or even stop this great change that is currently sweeping across this great country of ours, even it means to believe in a myth.
