After devouring all four books of the Twilight Saga, I decided to head to Stephenie Meyer's website to see what else she might have available. It was there that I noticed a link under the Twilight tabs for Midnight Sun.
Just in case you don't know about it, Midnight Sun is Stephenie Meyer's vision of Twilight from Edward Cullen's point of view. Here is the sad thing for the Twilight/Edward obsessed. Someone Stephenie Meyer trusted leaked the rough draft, all 12 chapters, of Midnight Sun to the internet. Ouch!
Stephenie Meyer states essentially that she really did not want her readers to read this copy of Midnight Sun as it was unfinished and unpolished. It was not how she intended readers to see it, but against her wishes that was how her readers were getting it anyway.
So she went ahead and posted the first 12 chapters to her website for readers to find. She has also not decided if she will finish and publish Midnight Sun due to this betrayal.
I was hunting around the internet, bored, and came across a few forum discussions and I was surprised by what I was reading!
So many people are whining about Stephenie Meyer's choice to not finish this book (for now, we hope!). Many make comments that she should stop "pouting" and "get over it". There are comments like "her fan base deserves this book to be finished." Other comments along the lines of "we don't deserve to be punished for one person's crime."
There were some supportive comments also, but most of them were negative.
How do you feel about this?
