First puppy went to her new home

It is so hard to believe Emily's puppies are already 6 weeks old as of yesterday.  They are eating really good dried and wet food mixed.  Even eating dried that we leave down all the time just not as good with the wet. 

Emily is even starting to refuse feeding them at all.  So we figured now is the time for their new homes.  All are spoke for except for one and we seen on freecycle today that a lady wanted one for her 7 year old little girl.  I responded to her that we had one left and she came to look at her today.  We decided we would let her go and give it a try with condition that they have problems with her eating she bring her back for a few more days.  I really don't think they are going to have problems at all, this one is one of the best eaters.

 I am so happy to see her go to a family with children.  She is the only animal in the home other then fish.

It would break my heart to let any of them go, which is why I'm not allowed any more puppies. My Booboo was put to sleep 9/30/08 after being my BFF for about 10 years and it was his time. I'm still heartbroken and my husband says no more pups for me.

We have way to many now. As long as they go to good homes I am okay. It is hard but I am happy they are in good homes.

I'm glad you found homes for all of them.

I think I would have a horrible time letting puppies go to new homes. We have three dogs, and I was attached to all three very quickly.

I love puppies and can't go to Pet Smart events or pet stores, shelters, etc. because I would want them all. Hope your puppies have good homes. I know my Rocky has it better than most kids. And he deserves it. He is the best and brightens up our lives.

No, use to be some years ago in fact back in the early 90s I use to show and breed SharPeis and Pugs. This was just an accident.

Well James wants to keep one and I have this weird feeling seeing that no one has spoke for it and it just happens to disappear when people look at them that there is a mission between dad and James. Specially since they are now calling it Precious.

This Summer is flying by. Seems like they were just born. I imagine how hard it is for you to give them up. I'm a sucker for pups myself.

Wow six weeks already! It does sound like Eric and James are plotting to keep one pup. Can't blame them though. It is hard to let them go.

Our male is getting fixed. We tried getting her fixed a long time ago and the vet wouldn't long story why.

Shouldn't you have waited til they were 8 weeks old to make sure they were eating properly before you gave the pups away. Not leave it up to the new pup owners to bring them back if they aren't eating okay.

Minipin I didn't leave it up to them I explained to them that they have been eating on their own for almost a week now. However, if they wanted me to save it I could, if they took it and had problems to please bring it back for a few days more. I'm not an irresponsible animal owner. I have bread and showed full blooded shar peis and pugs before these guys. Some pups are very capable of being on their owns at 6 weeks. As well when their mother refuses and weans on her own not much you can do to make her.
