The majority of the GOP’s opposition to the Obama Administration’s policies and initiatives has to do with the fear that they will succeed. If the economy does turn around and President Obama succeeds in its efforts to fix the broken health care system, the Republican Party and their pundits feel that their grasp on the throat of our country will forever be broken and lost. As certain GOP leaders have said more than once, they wish for the failure of President Obama and in view that translates to they wish for the failure of America. You can't seperate the two. So I guess fear does tend to be the driving force of the current GOP Republican Guard. Fear that President Obama will succeed and fear that the GOP may go the way of Doe Doe.

They have nothing going for them other than a sex scandal from one their own every month. Their only chance is for Americans to suffer so they can profit. And they are hoping that happens. Listen to their own words.
These are very big if's, given the current circumstances in Washington D.C..
If the democrats don't accomplish both things before Congress recesses, as Obama insists must be done with healthcare, I would suggest he runs the possibility of being a lame duck president of his own creation.
Lastly, I must respectfully disagree, and I am able to easily separate what is good for Obama's political fortunes, and what is good for the U.S.A..
The vague outlines, innuendo and dark whispers to date, from the administration, are something far less than "transparent," and leave large gaping holes in the details.
Fear, of course, motivates my doubts about Obama adminstration policies.
I believe it is only logical to fear the results of his actions to date, much less waiting to see what he does in the next three years.
This is nothing exclusive to the democrat party or the republican party.
Democrats were just as politically invested in "losing" the Iraq war, and did everything they could, from day one, to portray the effort as being a "failure."
So what ??
It's the way of life for a politician, it seems, to put your own political fortunes ahead of those of the country.
It is naive in the extreme to suggest democrats are guilt free of such behavior.
