Gather Points ?

What just happened?  All I've been doing the past hour is looking at articles and making a few comments.  I was just about to write an article of my own when the points updated.  All of a sudden I jumped by about 50 points.  What just happened?  It's never been that much for page views in that past few weeks.  Did this happen to anyone else?

The same thing happened to me, I got over 60 points the last time the points updated. I'm not complaining, but I haven't been doing anything differently than I ever do.

Oh no - you better not talk about a big point jump! Remember what happened last time someone did that? They discovered that they had a BOT on their account, ha.

Yesterday though I did have a nice point jump and I thought maybe it was because I posted a photo essay. Then Bridget reminded me that I won 100 points about 3 weeks ago and said that it usually takes about that long for prize points to be added to accounts. She would know, she wins all the dang time! LOL. Anyway, I'm assuming that is why I suddenly got 100 points. :o)

Hmm...I don't know. I noticed mine did increase a bit too, but since I really don't keep track, I don't know if the jump was normal or not.

I've noticed that the points tend to hit my account all at once rather than based on immediate activity - I might get points today if I posted like crazy yesterday.

Mine went up also. Was thinking it was the 50 points for the women's mag thing I submitted for.

About 2 yrs ago I had a 1500 point increase in one day, and I was sure something was wrong, but when I asked Gather staff about it they said that they had good revenue that day so everyone's points were high for the day. So perhaps today (and someone noticed a jump yesterday too) Gather is doing well! Let's hope it continues this way - though I have never had that big of a jump since then, I would love for that to happen again.

I just jumped in points too. Approx. 50-60 points.
A few people have mentioned point jumps. It sounds like Monica may be right. Let's hope so, and it's not "bots"!

yeah it could be a winning! Check your email and see if you have one that says "You won Gather Points". I won 25 one week and 50 the next... bout the only time I see the points go up is when I win them!

Don't look at me. I haven't been receiving much more than 10 points a day for doing what I've done in the past when I used to pick up 100 - 150 points a day...viewing other posts and commenting. It's gotten so slow and worthless around Gather lately...since the last 'change'...it's not worth the bother spending so many hours here any more. If things don't pick up soon, I'm dropping Gather altogether. I'm not spending over 10 hours a day here for a lousy 10 points...or and entire year to make $10 when I used to make a couple grand.

I don't even know when the points change anymore. I think I just quit worrying about the points. Gather does pay and that's all I know.

I don't watch my points that closely, but I have noticed a few jumps lately - I'm guessing it's the contests they are running.

I think that certain points build up before being credited. Perhaps you got points for overall persistent participation.

My points have been going up through the day but nothing spectacular like that. I do not check points very often so I don't know how they upgrade them.

That happened to me a few days ago. I stayed on longer than I intended because I could actually see them moving steadily up. I was afraid to leave. Hasn't happened since.

After I just cashed out over a month ago..
My points have gone up considerably.
From my posts getting views, and winning Gather points..
I've received over 300 points in just a month and a half.
