I am addicted to books folks. I need help stopping. I usually swap books with members in other sites but I find that it takes too long. I am a slow reader; why do I need all these books on my shelves. There has to be a books's anonymous that I could go and get cured... Don't laugh.
On my lunch hour, I went to Borders. They had a special buy 4 get the 5th one free. OK I didn't stop at 5 I had to buy an extra one. Ahah!! but I got lucky. I had a $5.00 rebate in my card and the last book was for free altogether I spent$ 60.68.
Those books will probably be on my book shelf or on the dresser (since I have no more room) until I am done with my summer reading list. Here are the ones I bought, I hope they are really good. "The Best Day of Someone Else's Life" is from a gather member who reviewed and it sounds so good that I bought.

I rarely buy new books.
Of course I'm facilitating you getting more books, not getting rid of them... oops, I am not helping, am I?
I used to have a 'monthly book budget' though I have slowed down in recent years; I'm still a voracious reader but have so many books that I re-read them multiple times...did I mention that I am most fond of authors who write series? For some storylines, I just don't want it to end. Hm....might have to meditate on that.
One or two books at a time will be better.
People have been giving me books for years since I spent much time home alone and then I started writing and didn't read as much. This week I decided in my effort to de-clutter I was going to read those books and then pass them on. Now that is the way to de-clutter. I've read 2 books this week -- I'm a fast reader.
My husband has begun reading and we can't seem to keep enough books in the house for him.
I'll trade ya-- I'm addicted to diet soda!
Check out your local thrift stores too or stores hat you give you credit to buy back books if you really need to feed this need of owning the books.
I feel bad buying books.... it took a tree's life. I hate to waste paper! I am a big time recycler and repurposer. (is that a word?)
There are sites that offer book online to read for free too. I just download them to my PDA and read them in my free time. I'll try and find some of those sites for you if you'd like; they are .edu sites, so no worries about viruses. :)
I hope they are all really really good! Don't forget to post reviews!
When I am buying books, I usually get them used off of Amazon. You can get some good deals there!
I eventually just had to stop fighting it and go with the flow.....lol
I know exactly how you feel though. Now I try to pass some on when I bring in new ones so that I'm not continually adding bookshelves.
As far as I'm concerned you can never have too many books. When my home burnt ten years back now I lost over 2,000 hardback books and that again in paperback books. I've read since the first of the year over 50 books and if my eyes were like they used to be I would have read double or triple that amount.
Enjoy your books,
:O)
My nirvana is my own well stocked library, a comfy place to read, a glass of wine and belgian chocolate pralines.
Of course the library would have to open up into the garden ...
