What in the heck is this...

When I went out for coffee a couple days ago with a couple other Moms, during VBS week, we saw this bug on the side of the building.  None of us had ever seen one before, so we all got out our cell phones and took a photo of it!

The body was about 2" long and he had pinchers too! I think he's interesting looking, as long as he didn't fly at me! LOL!

Anyone know what kind of bug this is???

Looks to me to be either a Cottonwood Borer or an Asian longhorned beetle

It's shaped similar to a box elder but diff color and I know they don't have antenna like that. about how big was it?

I looked it up and found it, it is an asian longhorned beetle and they kill trees.

I think it looks like a painted lightning bug with extra long antennae.
If it's a tree killer then I don't like it one bit!

Nice specimen. You should have bagged and tagged it. The kids could start a beetle collection. (well that's kind of icky, but think how educational)

Well, I would have called it a Dalmation because of its black and white coloring, and then I would have squashed it! I'm not a bug person.
