Paula Abdul may not be around for the next season of American Idol to make her wacky comments and use her "expansive" vocabulary. According to her new manager, David Sonenberg, there seems to have been a holdup with her new contract, in that she hasn't received one yet. In a Los Angeles Times report, Sonenberg says it doesn't appear she'll be back on the show as time is running out.
This news is surprising as Abdul recently said she'd been invited back as a judge and earlier this year, Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly called her an "integral part." But without a contract renewal soon it appears we will no longer have the zany judge to entertain us with her crazy metaphors and comedic bit with Simon. What will he do without her? I'm sure we'll miss her as Randy, Simon and Kara hold down the fort.
Auditions for the ninth season begin next month and I don't know about you, but with or without Paula, I can't wait until it begins!
