LOL on the group! You are not a loser! You spend your time where and how you wish to spend it...makes you a winner! I have Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gather, blogspot, a website - 4 actually, and belong and am active in numerous web groups and writing groups. I'm a NUTso!

I've been very active online for 10 years come this November. I enJOY spreadin' abitosunshine (my personal website and cyber name) I feel that the social networks and web groups are what you want them to be, what you make them to be. I've made many good friends online and have met many of them face-to-face. Yes, it takes a lot o' time, but that is all we have really, so I'm enJOYin' it my way, and so should you.

Lalaine you are not loosing much by not having facebook. I have it and I don't really know how to use it. I hear so much rave about it. I wish someone would sit and show me what can be done with it.

Only get a facebook account if you want. I would never do anything because others do. I am on Facebook, but don't do much there. Every once in a while I will message my brother there. Your not missing much IMHO.

I was on Facebook before Gather, I am not familiar with Gather yet, so I like Facebook better. I have quit waching television and I spend my spare time networking with new friends. When they are sad or in pain I try to cheer them up. They also do the same for me. I love it...

I got into Facebook many months ago ecause I wanted to find my old school mates. It depends on what you like. I'm not that crazy about it but there are people who can't breathe without writing it down on Facebook.

Though I have a Facebook account, I very seldom post stuff, I mostly keep up with my husband's friends (he's not on facebook either) an my old classmates. In fact though, my husband is a technical guru and has a PhD in computer science, he doesn't blog, twitter or facebook... So I don't think it's strange at all that some people don't have a facebook or myspace or twitter.

Hi Lalaine! I agree with everyone above, as well as you always seem as though you've got a ton to do already LOL
I keep a face book account to keep up with my mates children accross Canada and my nephews a province away, family. I've heard some strange and scary things about face book lately so I'm real careful to mainly stick with names I know and loved ones. I'm fairly new to the computer world and so far gather is my favorite place to be! Have a great day foe me it is time to end mine and get some sleep. ifin I can LOL

I am on Facebook, however I did it because my kids were on there and it is a quick and easy way to keep up with them. My husband spends more time on there than I do. I would rather Gather!

No you do not need a Facebook account Lalaine. I'd go a step further and tell you to definitely NOT get a Facebook account or Twitter. Too much controversy and too many uproars over on that Facebook.

No don't do it. Of course, I guess you can tell that I do not belong to either of the two Social Networks that I just mentioned. There are better ones.
