Stop the energy tax petition

I hereby petition Congress to reject any and all legislation (or regulatory action by the EPA) that would enact new energy taxes and/or establish a national cap and trade system for carbon dioxide that would, as President Obama has said, cause electricity and other energy prices to "necessarily skyrocket."

I have no idea of the exact course the future will hold with the natural environment and its impact on the lives of our grandchildren and their grandchildren. Scientists are sincere in being alarmist, and the fossil fuel technology and high resource consumption may not be viable for a increasingly economically developed world.

Perhaps the alarmism is unwarranted and the cap and trade taxes will cause unnecessary economic consequences. But can you imagine how we will be viewed in 100 years on the foregone conclusion that we should not heed the warnings that were clearly given..
