Friends,
I'll be brief because I want you all to click on the Blue Link in the first comment bubble. It will take you back to an article I posted early last year, a memorial for my friend Frankie, the best childhood friend who ever existed this side of Heaven.
Upon hearing of Frankie's death last year, I was pretty much devastated but I found writing about him, his life and his death to be therapeutic. It was therapeutic. Last year. Now, it's just embarrassing. It seems I need to check my sources better. Much better.
It seems the tale of his death was greatly exaggerated. After nearly 30 years of separation, I got a phone call from Frankie today. He's been trying to track me down for over a decade. I'm just learning that he and I actually share a common cousin and said cousin was in Maine recently, ran across Frankie and gave Frankie my contact info.
I am stunned. Flabbergasted. Embarrassed. But above all, Happy.
I told Frank I had heard of his death and not only that but I blogged him a memorial. I haven't told him how to find the memorial yet but told him I still had it. This is so embarrassing. I wonder if Frankie should even read it.
I will leave that up to those of you who click on the link and come back and tell me yay or nay. Either way folks,
FRANKIE IS ALIVE AND DOING WELL! God Bless!!!
Thanks for visiting this page,
- Robert

READ THIS !!!! (from last year)
He IS Alive and Well Folks
:+)
Who told you he had passed??
(Tracy, is that even a word?)
(Tracy, is that even a word?)
(Unless you make it French-- l'derogatoricaly.)
(But I wouldn't trust me on that last part if I were you.)
(disclaimer: Tracy's not really my love, somedays I'm not even among her 'likes')
At least then, he'll know how much you meant to him.
Please put "Journal entry" on this one, and I'll accept it.
Because I think it's very worthy.
But, nonfiction of course.
You know Frankie, we don't, so it's your call, but he might feel honored to read your words. If he has a good sense of humor, so much the better.
Know Frank, the man, 30 years later? That's not definitive.
Sure, share it with him. It's called," Sharin' da love".
i hope sumone would write like that about me too...
i am happy for both of u.... specially u... *hugs*
I'm a little slow tallying the votes but it looks like the VOTE is in. I am suppose to talk with him again today or tomorrow. I will offer to email him his memorial (but I'm going to edit it for a softer stance on his parents, as I should).
on a toxic river
Have you let Frankie read the memorial? I think that he should see it. It may be embarassing, but you don't want to regret not telling him how much he's meant to you and the big difference he's made in your life.
I guess you two have a lot of catching up to do!!
