Well, as you can tell I'm still here. Baby E seems to keep changing his mind about coming. I woke up with strong contractions 4 minutes apart last night, but after three hours with contractions they stopped again.
So......I will have to write a shopping post instead of an "off to the hospital" post.
As some of you know I took the boys to Target and to the mall to do some walking yesterday. We did not buy anything at the mall, but we did get some great clearance deals at Target.
This is definitely the time to go clearance hunting at Target, as they are beginning to mark a lot of summer stuff down. I will have to go there weekly from now on to make sure to pick up the big deals, so that I will not have to pay full price throughout the year.
I have a box for each boys with clothes and shoes, where I put the deals for when they are needed. I am also buying for Christmas and for a couple of upcoming birthdays, so this is the time for me to shop.
The boys already know that we look for the big clearance signs, and yesterday Roshane was reading all the prices for Sky.
Yesterday we got:
Swim shorts for Baby E reg. price $6.99 - paid $1.74 (saved $5.25)
Shorts for Baby E reg. price $4 - paid $1 (saved $3)

Well, I guess I didn't win the pool since you are still here!
I love target, too, but the closest one is an hour away. There was a cruel rumor we were going to get one here, but that turned out to be false.
I hope Baby E. arrives soon!
Sky is not going to wear the shoes until the fall/winter so I made sure there was enough room to grow. When they have the 75 percent off, it is really my time to shop:)
I totally need to get to Target. I'm lousy at finding the sales there but every so often I get lucky. You can't beat $3 shoes! I got a pair from Target a while ago for myself for only $4 but usually I can't find them there for less than $10. You can never have too many crayons!
I love Target clearance sales! Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to stop by mine. I love the shoes you found!
I've been looking for deals on school supplies. I have to back to school shop for 2 this year as my little one is starting preschool through VPK. I can't believe it! So, they both have supply lists I have to get through. New shoes for both and new clothes..... It's so expensive! The preschool has uniform shirts, 4 for $70!!!! Yikes!!!!
I have to go through my little one's drawers to make room for new clothes. I wonder how far away we really are from each other. I usually take all the clothes to Goodwill or something, but if we were close enough, I'd give them to you. I'll pm you with the city I'm in and we'll figure out how far away it is, lol.
The back to school deals are definitely starting now. I saw Target has some good deals next week as well, and CVS is running a lot of school supplies (pencils etc) free after CVS bucks Sun- Tues. Make sure to get rain checks if they are out.
My oldest have uniform clothes as well, but fortunately we do not have to buy it through the school. We can buy it at JCP, Target etc. which really helps on the cost.
I need to find a deal on binders, both boys need one. I hate paying full price for anything, lol. The supply lists are so long that it's ridiculous! Between the 2 kids I think I need 25 glue sticks, 3 bottles of glue, 40 pencils, 5 folders, paper, markers, paper towels, composition books, and on and on and on. Staples had some good sales this week, hopefully next week is good too. Even Publix had good deals. The glue sticks and crayons were pretty cheap there.
Wow, 25 glue sticks!!!
There are definitely some good deals coming, but we gotta be there early before everyone else takes it all:) I bought lots of supplies at Target last year, I hope they do some weekly deals as well, since it is easy to pick up when we are there grocery shopping anyway.
I usually look for the garden decor clearance and sometimes at their household linens and things for kitchen and bathroom.
You did great, nice shoes for Sky:) you can tell he likes them:)
There were lots of indoor decor on sale at 50 percent off, rugs at 75 percent off and at one of the Targets they have started marking down the outdoor decor a bit, but not enough for me to hit yet.
I am on pins and needles waiting for baby E, I can't even imagine how you are feeling!
I like Target, especially the $ spot (they make great "rewards" or special treats for long car rides, as well as small Christmas presents/stocking stuffers) and their clearance! I'm expecting a $50 Target gift card in the mail...hopefully it comes soon. I've built up Elliott's winter wardrobe, except for shoes, and now I'm ready to start on next summer. I don't really need more clothes for baby yet, but if I find an exceptional deal I'd jump on it of course. I'm actually hoping to save the card mostly for diapers, etc.
Hopefully Baby E will be here soon.
Now, tell Baby E that everyone is eager for him to get here. :-)
Take care of yourself.
I used to buy the boys shoes at Payless, but their quality has decreased big time while the price has increased.
Wanna come visit?? :~)
A good thing there is online shopping:)
And, yes...online shopping is a necessity here!!!
Friday we were at KMart and they had a blue light special on shoes. They were all half price, and then still buy one get one for an additional half price. So Elliott got 2 pair of shoes that were normally around $18, one was $9 and the other was $4.50. He was excited. ;) They are actually the next size up from what he wears right now, though, since he already has 3 good ones in this size and his feet just grow sooo fast!
It sounds like you got a great deal on the shoes. At Target they were marking shoes 30, 50 and 75 percent off at both of the stores I went to this past week.
The one I visit sometimes is about 2 hours away where my parents live. We have a Super Walmart here. I would love it if it was Target instead.
