Hello Everyone,
Had to make some changes to my TOPS Speech. Need to "flesh it out". It still falls short on the time. The minimum time limit is 20 minutes. This speech is just short of 7 min. long. I'm either gonna have to do a lot of "pausing" or speak REAL SLOW.
Otherwise how's the speech?

My program is on this quote, and what it means to me -
Quote - "There's nothing stronger than a volunteer” - Unquote
The war on weight loss is like a WAR or a SPECIAL OPS MISSION. They both need volunteers. You got to have the heart and have the strength of a volunteer. So I ask each and everyone this question - Do you have the heart of a volunteer?
Dec 6th America didn't want to get involved in a war. But on Dec 7th, America was attacked. And it took an attack on our soil to get us involved. America said to the world, "Okay, you want a war, you got a war." Our hearts and souls suffered in that war. Your heart and soul is suffering with your weight. You have finally decided get serious about losing weight. You said, "I don't want a war but no more feeling like I don‘t belong”. -- You said, “You want a war, you got a war." And your Dec. 7th has arrived.
We had to have volunteers. Our men and women volunteered into the armed services. The day you joined TOPS you became a volunteer in your war with weight loss. Our men and women needed to have the heart to be strong, dedicated, and fearless. You and I need to be like those volunteers in our war.
Then we had to arm ourselves with knowledge of information. Knowledge is power and the power is in your hands. TOPS arms us with information. Information is the key to know how to win our war the right way. Information is the key to making and having a right plan of action in your war. And how to use the special tools that is available. Like, for example, counting calories, exercises to do, just to name a few.
We had the Allies helping us during the war. And you do too. Your Ally is this TOPS chapter. We are here to help you in any way, shape or form. All you need to do is -- ASK. And I know that to ASK for help is the hardest thing anyone can do. But this first step has been taken, you’re here. Just as you learned to walk, as a child, you had to put one foot in front of the other. So the next step is to put the other foot - change your life - in the front of your first step that you have taken. Remember this; you will stumble on your journey. Try not to let it stop you. If you find that you need help to “stay the course” - Remember your Allies.
Our men and women went to boot camp to learn how to fight and protect themselves. TOPS boot camp is the weekly weigh-ins, the meetings and the programs. Like programs to learn the right way to fight and protect yourself in your war.
Our country become strong because of all the trails and hardships the people had to endure during the war. TOPS members become strong because of the bond of friendship between all its members. Be able to lean on each other when you or someone else has a gain. No matter how small or large it is. No judgment. Just know that you will do better next week. And the happiness you or someone has a loss, even if it’s a quarter of a pound. It's still a loss.
America won the war. America grew stronger because of the war. The way a TOPS member wins their war is to reach their goal weight and become a KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) member.
My Dec. 7th was Feb. 5, 2007 when I stepped on my home scale. Reaching my highest weight was a shock. Telling myself “I need to lose weight” wasn't gonna do me any good. Now I know I needed help. So I searched for a solution. I remembered joining TOPS when I was a teenager. So I used my computer and searched for a TOPS club in my area. I went to my first meeting on Feb. 27, 2007, asked some questions and joined. So far I've lost 34.25 pounds. I've been slacking off for the past few months. I just love to eat; I eat food that is very high in calories. Now I have to ask myself this question - Do I have the heart of a volunteer? Am I strong enough? So starting this week I'm going to re-enlist. I'm gonna be a “volunteer” in my war to reach my goal weight.
Marsha gave this card to us a while ago. Hand in Hand - Together We Can
You take my hand and I'll take yours, and we'll start out today.
For a helping hand is what we need, to lift us on our way.
The way to goal is a lonely road, we need someone to care.
So reach out, my friend, and take my hand and then we're almost there.
Here is the Closing Pledge that I would like recite -
I pledge that I will try this week, to keep in mind the goal I seek.
To get some exercise each day.
By walking, moving in any way.
To eat to live, not live to eat.
To reach my goal without defeat.
So by this pledge, I'll live each day, and I'll weigh less each time I weigh.
So, I ask everyone here, do you have the heart of a volunteer?

To me the TOPS program is founded on this quote, and what it means to me -
Quote - "There's nothing more giving and stronger than a volunteer” - Unquote
The fight against weight gain is at times like a WAR or a SPECIAL OPS MISSION. And to fight a good fight both need volunteers. Everyone who wants to be a volunteer has got to have the heart and have the strength of a volunteer.
So I ask each and everyone this question - Do you have the heart of a volunteer? Do you have the fight in you to win this war?
On Dec 6th America didn't want to get involved in a war. But on Dec 7th, America was attacked. And it took an attack on our soil to get us involved. America said to the world, "Okay, you want a war, you got a war." Our hearts and souls suffered in that war.
Every day your heart and soul is suffering with your weight. You don’t need a trigger point to say lets get serious, you need only to see and feel the need to be active, the need to over come your fear, you just need to have the heart to take on this, Start your journey and believe in and fight for who you want to be.
You …. YES all of you, have finally decided get serious about losing weight. You have said, "I don't want a war, but no more, No more of this… No more do I want this feeling like I don‘t belong”. -- You came here because you said, “You want a fight at last? you’ve got the heart to carry this off!" Today is your Dec. 7th …. It has arrived.
Through time, we have had to have volunteers. Our men and women volunteered into the armed services. The day you joined TOPS you became a volunteer in your own peace mission with weight loss to the new you. Our men and women needed to have the heart to be strong, dedicated, and fearless.
You and I need to be like those volunteers in our war, Our war for a greater life of the new, the vibrant, the energetic new you and I.
The road we are about to walk is not without some pain, so we do need to be prepared, TOPS prepares us, TOPS gives us the hand we need to mission complete. TOPS arms us with knowledge of information.
Knowledge is power and the power is in your hands. TOPS arms us with information. Information is the key to know how to win our war the right way.
Information is the key to making and having a right plan of action in your war.
Our Business plan for the future, our plan to succeed in the fight for a better you!
TOPS teaches and guides us on how to use the special tools that are available. Like, for example:
Counting calories,
Exercises to do,
Foods to steer clear of.
Just to name a few..
We had the Allied forces helping us during the war. And you do too. Your Allied forces is this TOPS chapter and My and my teams personal support.
We are here to help you in any way, shape or form. All you need to do is -- ASK.
I know that to ASK for help is the hardest thing anyone can do, and with TOPS I can assure you to ASK is by far the easiest thing to do.
This first step has been taken, you’re here. Just as you learned to walk, as a child, you had to put one foot in front of the other. So the next step is to put forward the other foot - change your life - in the front of your first step that you have taken.
Remember this;
You may stumble in your journey. But be sure we are here for you, we will be with you TOPS takes us to the point where we can succeed.
If you find that you need help to “stay the course” - Remember your Allies. Remember we also share your journey and we will give you all we have to stay the distance. We don’t cut and run!
Our men and women went to boot camp to learn how to fight and protect themselves. TOPS boot camp is not so tough, the weekly weigh-ins, the meetings and the programs are all made easy for you to reach your goals. TOPS programs show you how to learn the right way to fight and protect yourself in your quest to succeed.
Our country become strong because of all the trials and hardships the people had to endure during the many wars. TOPS members become strong because of the bond of friendship between all its members. Being able to lean on each other for support when you or someone else has an unexpected gain. No matter how small or large it is. No judgment. Just know that you will do better next week. And the happiness when you or someone has a loss, even if it’s a quarter of a pound. It's still a loss. And Loss is success.
America won the war. America grew stronger because of the war. The way a TOPS member wins their war is to reach their goal weight and become a KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) member.
