Remembering...

As most of you know by now, my ex-husband, Gordon, passed away this morning. here he is performing with his partner Peter Asher. This is just before I met him, in 1966. I believe this was Sweden in 1964.p>

And around 1966...

This is the song I always considered mINE! When I first met Gordon, he came to my parents house and picked up my cheap guitar and prefaced this with "Here is a song Paul wrote for us, Peter and I just recorded it". He played and sang it to us flawlessly. He and Peter (who was best man at our wedding, sang this for me on that date, marking thier first gig together in 33 years!

I watched each video. My teen was discussing the era of the music. I also looked at each of the photos in your other post.

the good times, yes, he was such a beautiful boy, then man, then he just didn't care anymore and watching him destroy himself slowly was too painful

Thank you for sharing these videos with us. I am one of those people who love certain songs but can rarely tell you who the artist is. These are all songs that I love. Hearing his music makes him more than just a person you wrote about. It makes him real. He was very talented.

Yes linda, so talented and yet he was never satisfied. He dulled himself with alcohol and ciggies and turned into a bitter old man, I miss this remembrance of him, not the latter days, but even then, his voice was magical.

Yes, we met in 1966, kept in touch while going our own ways and got back together again in '95, marrying in 98, he only just lsft about a year and a half ago!

These songs are so beautiful. I was 16 in 1966 and when "I Go To Pieces" started playing, I sang along, word for word, enjoying the harmony and reliving my youth a little.

I'm so sorry for your loss. May your memories of the good times be as sweet as the music Gordon and his partner, Peter, left to the world.

You and I are the same age then. I was sixteen when I met Gordon and gave my virginity to him and that was that!
Good memories and sad ones and some bad ones, he was basically a good guy, had too many demons in the end.
