The Sonia Sotomayor Supreme Court confirmation hearings are dominating the news this week. Since none of us get to actually cast an official vote, I thought I'd post a poll.
So what do you think? Based on what you've learned about Judge Sotomayor, should she be elected as our next Supreme Court justice? Vote below.

I really don't like these votes. They're oversimplified, to say the leasr!
She is a strong, intelligent woman whoknows her job and does it well. Sh will be a great Justice!
yes
I think the hearings are a waste of time!
But it's fun watching Republicans make fools of themselves with their "gotcha" questions that reveal they don't really "get" anything
"ha ha ha" Julie, revelations about the fact that she could possibly be a reverse racist, revelations about the fact that she would support gun bans under state law?
Justices of the Supreme Court need to follow the letter of the law and not engage in judicial activism. American jurisprudence needs a Supreme Court Justice who understands the theory of legal precedent and will not legislate from the bench.
I think she is a horrible choice. The blander the political and social views of the judge the better!
There is no such thing as a "reverse racist." You are either racist or not. The reverse of racist is "not racist" or "fair."
And what she said, repeatedly, is that PRECIDENCE, not her opinion, is what dictates her rulings. She never said she would "support" a ban. She said she would need to do something you seem unable to do...look at the actual facts on a case by case basis.
These hearings made me do some research and I found out Jeff Sessions is a RACIST DOG who tried to prosecute blacks for voting!
John Cornyn was for allowing wiretaps on Americans witout a warrant.
Orrin Hatch takes bribes through his surrogate, his son's lobby group Walker, Martin & Hatch LLC, a Washington lobbying firm.
These senators and more are seeing if Sotomayor is qualified?
Yes! I hope she is approved.
(The real question is, will all the white, male federal judges who consider themselves equally well qualified to be Supreme Court justices then file a class-action lawsuit allegeing reverse discrimination?)
I have no reason to argue against her admission to the Supreme Court. She appears to be better qualified than a couple who are in there already.
"The blander the political and social views of the judge the better".
Oh come on. By that logic, you should be agitating for the impeachment of Scalia. I don't see you doing that. So it strikes me as a bit paradoxical and perhaps hypocritical of you to judge Soptomayor by that yardstick.
"Justices of the Supreme Court need to follow the letter of the law and not engage in judicial activism."
follow the letter of the law????
You moron! Why do you think these cases REACH the Supreme Court?
Sludge, the fact that you think she would make a HORRIBLE choice just shows your ignorance. She is obviously well-qualified with an incredibly extensive legal background and experience, so she couldn't possibly be a HORRIBLE choice UNLESS you are making your decision based on PERSONAL preference.
Go back to FAUX News you moron.
I don't claim to KNOW that she is a good choice but I do know that she is not a HORRIBLE choice.
You people really disturb me sometimes with your biased ignorance.
Funny how you don't seem to be disturbed by the bias of Sotomayor, clearly demonstrsted by both her words ("...wise Latina...") and her actions (failing to rule for the plaintiffs in the Ricci vs. DeStefano case). And how about her membership in the racist organizations , Puerto Rican Legal Defense & Education Fund and La Raza (tranlates to "the Race"). Thank you to the US Supreme Court for overruling Sotomayor on the Ricci case.
