After the Tri-Wizard Challenge, there were a number of activities that we could participate in. So, we went around and did each of those.
The first thing we did was go to the Dragon Hatchery where we were to hatch our dragon egg, well, so the paper said. What we actually did was make some sort of goo (I believe made in large part our of Elmer's Glue) Gideon enjoyed mixing it up and playing with it.

Then on to the long trek to the Weasley cottage where they had Scabbers the rat, a craft to make, Ron and the Weasley car for photo ops.
Well, the first thing I looked for there was Scabbers, but I didn't see him. :( It turns out his handler was ill and Scabbers as a result was a no-show. Bummer.
But Gideon enjoyed posing with the car for a photo.

And again with Ron. You can see his robe pretty good here too and his goop he made is in his hand.

Then we did a craft - a rat. Haha. Gideon was tired, so he picked the colors he wanted it to be and I made it for him.
The front of our rat.

And the back

Next up was getting our palms read for fun.

She told Gideon he's not allowed to date til he's 40. (lol) That he's smart and artistic. And that he should follow the arts (forgot her wording, but that was the idea)
I had mine done as well and she said the dating thing for Gideon again, that a letter was to arrive and something along the lines that there will be an opportunity I'm to take. Which is interesting because for a while now Rene and I have been at work on a collaboration on a project about taking opportunities and missing them as well.
Clint has his read - I forgot what his was, though. While he was doing that I looked in the costume shop nearby and found some glasses. We decided to buy them as the price was right and the ones I made were too flimsy. I was impressed how much they really put him over the edge to look like Harry.
On the way out we saw Professor McGonnagal and Dobby (with his mask on) I took a photo with their permission but the backlighting darkened it out. :(

Then it was on to Professor Sprout's Herbology Lesson (planting Daisies)

It looks like someone got stuck in one of the pots, too. LOL

I later saw an article in the Daily Oracle about this.
Gideon now has a little pot of daisies to grow. :)
After that we had over an hour to kill before lunch, so we went to the library to cool off and to play.
Gideon sat down - glasses on and all - and sewed. He said I like sewing and I'm sewing just like you (he did double stitches like he saw me doing for his robe)

Then it was time for lunch at the Great Hall, which will be the next essay. :-)

Wow! It looks like a lot of fun to me.
They really put a lot of work in each year to make these events correlate with each novel. It's really pretty impressive for being local to this one town and they don't travel around and do this elsewhere.
There were people that traveled over 2 hours to attend this year.
Looks like it was tons of fun!
It really was. Gideon's already excited for next year. :P
how fun!!!!!
Indeed it was. :)
Sounds like a great time!
It was.
One of our favorite things was going in the Elks lodge. It's said to be haunted, but we never had a good reason to look around there. LOL
I haven't reviewed them, no, but I WILL review the movie after we see it Saturday. Going to see it at the IMAX cinema since parts of it are in 3D.
