First of all, I want to thank each of you who has called the Blue Belle to order a copy of my newly released novel, Night and Day, or ordered a copy online!
Because my novel, Night and Day, is published by a small, independent press, Second Wind Publishing, it does not have national distribution. Several shops in California, Iowa, and southern Minnesota are now selling my book, and usually have the display novel and signage set up near the cash register, at the customer service desk, or perhaps on a shelf in a display with some unrelated gift items that are also for sale.
Although Night and Day sales have been extremely good, especially for a first novel, I am far from being on the NY Times Best Seller list. That's why, when I went into Hy-Vee West in Mason City, Iowa last week, I experienced a thrilling personal moment when I started to look for my book, and found it on the shelf (two end in and one facing front and forward) right next to Janet Evanovich's Finger Lickin' Fifteen. I think there was a Kristen Hannah novel on the other side. Nora Roberts' latest was on the same shelf.
Is that cool, or what? Just seeing my name on the spine of that book, anywhere in the same vicinity as these ladies, was a moment that gave me goosebumps and left me smiling all day long.

(If you would like to purchase a copy of my book, Night and Day, go to www.amazon.com and search for Night and Day by Sherrie Hansen, or, go directly to my publisher at www.SecondWindPublishing.com, or call the Blue Belle Inn at 641-713-3113 to order a signed copy.)

That is most cool... but (imho) not surprising. :)
Thanks, Julie. :-)
I'm thrilled for you! I wish I had a book in me, but I'm afraid I don't. I sure don't have the time...tho I know you are a super busy woman!!!
You deserve the boost! I still need to get on it and write a Gather review. I enjoyed it. It was well done. It kept me reading. :-)
Thanks, Ellie! Hope you are catching up on your sleep, and that the home improvements are going smoothly!
I bet it was a huge thrill to see your book on a bookstore shelf. What an honor, Nora Roberts has been my favorite for years but Sherrie might be the new Nora. Good Luck with your sales.
That is so cool! Your book is sharing shelf space with some great company! How exciting!
I'm going to look for it when I get my Amazon gift card I'm waiting on.
That must have been such a cool experience for you! Congratulations!
We are all so proud of and thrilled for you!
