For those ready to begin again.
Parting is such sweet sorrow,
Tis said and tis true.
But only if the parting's brief.
But should your dear one cross a line,
That widens to a crevice
And valley of forgetfulness,
Severance becomes a pain of pains.
However, if truth be told
And the path of love is understood,
You have not given away your heart.
Only its first crop of love.
Just the very first harvest
From wildly sown seed
Grown in uncertain soil.
For when the Season's wheel has turned
And a bright new Spring has come,
Be ready to be loved again.

I can't even begin to say how closely I can relate to that... you described it so perfectly that my heart has been stirred far beyond my ability to describe it... this is exactly what happened. :-) Brilliant, dear Fred!
Hugs and blessings - S.
Thank you dear Sveta. I know that there is some salve rubbed onto a wound when someone understands. A prayer for you. For that great day that's coming.
Many hugs...Fred
Very good Fred. Leaving nothing unsaid. Different types of parting.
Fred, I don't know if you are aware of this, but during the time you were off Gather for your surgery I separated (though I am still here, long story) from my husband. This poem really touches me where I live in a dual way. Thank you Fred.
Such a beautiful poem! How true, a farewell should be short and sweet always.
Fred, this is - comforting -
Thank you!
Beautiful poem, Fred!
