On Dropping a Group Member

Revenge can be sweet, and I am somewhat ashamed to admit I just indulged in such an indulgence.  In my own defense however, that which made the revenge sweet was not the  reason for my action.

The Political Middle was established to give the many of us who do not adhere to one of the political philosophy, a voice on Gather. I have however left membership open to all and have had only yardstick for determining why the few articles and photos I have chosen to remove were removed. That yardstick was and shall continue to be that I will not tolerate bashing of persons or groups of people because of their political philosophy, and by bashing I mean being intentionally insulting or demeaning.

The group had a member who consistently engaged in such conduct to the point that it seemed his reason for joining the Political Middle was to increase the likelihood that the targets of his disrespect would be more likely to read his articles and come to know the depth of his contempt for them.

As owner of the Political Middle I have chosen to remove this person from the group and block his return so he cannot use the group to insult those who at least try to show respect for their political adversaries even as they express disagreement with a particular ideas or set of ideas.  As the group's owner I owe an apology to those have been the target of his abuse for letting such abuse go unchecked. I can only hope you accept my apology.
