My kids seem to have the most fun when they are using their imaginations. They love to make up stories, pretend they are batman and superwoman, or make believe that dinosaurs are chasing them and they need to squirt them down with water guns. They have much creativity stored up in those cute little heads of theirs.
Yesterday they put their imaginations to use once again...............................
Markers are for drawing on paper, right?

Markers for my kids on this day were for decorating themselves up like warpainted Indians. My husband is 1/4 Cherokee and he was telling them stories about his Father who passed away when he was young. I guess they got it into their heads that they wanted to pretend to be indians.

They were having so much fun with creativity. At first they asked if they could do their faces.

They had so much fun with it that they took off their shirts and did their bodies too. It actually kept them entertained for an hour and a half. It allowed me free time to get some laundry done and wash some dishes up and get supper on.

They also did their fingernails.

Maddie even decorated a flower on her arm.

Toes were painted also. They had so much fun with it. The only rule was that they could only paint on themselves and not on the table or the walls. These were washable markers. So after supper the Chief and mommy put them in the bath tub. Then, all the colors of the day went swirling down the drain.

How cute! What a fun way to spend some time! I bet they really enjoyed themselves!
I love it when the kids color themselves and the dog.
HA HA HA HA
Maybe I am grateful that we don't have a dog. We do have a fish.
LOL! At least it wasn't the walls or floors!
Wow, looks like the kids had tons of fun with the markers.....and, it's so neat that they have such great imaginations! What a fun time and great photos!
very creative!! i love it, just make sure there are no permanent markers laying around for next time!! lol :)
Oh, believe me Michelle, I checked the box at the beginning to make sure they were all WASHABLE.
I also laid down the ground rules about, nothing on the walls, floors or table. They listened and had alot of fun.
what a good mom you are!!!! can always tell by the way kids listen!! :)
Well, they don't always listen. There are usually some consequences though.
adorable! I tried to view this earlier so I was hoping it would work this time :), k, i rest now
Lisa E---I tried to post it last night, and for some reason Gather just devoured it up into thin air. So I waited until today!
They look lovely, tell them I said so.
I will Sharon.
Sounds like you all had fun with this. Glad to hear it. Kids have the most vivid imaginations.
It looks like they had a lot of fun!
I was just noticing on the first photo of Aidan that he's got something wet all over his mouth. I am thinking maybe he took a big swig of juice.
How sweet! I think it's great that you are willing to let them do things like that. They will remember all the fun times.
how cute just wiat till they come home withthe real marking on them
Cute photos and essay. I was worried when I read the title that they did indeed paint the walls. Glad it was just themselves and that the markers were the washible ones.
You and me both Marianne.
Cute photos of Fun
I'll have to get some of those markers.
Elaine---Are you going to do a little painting on your face? ha ha ha
My 5 year old little man was sitting with me while I looked at this. He asked me what happened to them with the marks on their faces. Then when he saw the rest of them all decorated, he thought it was very cool! Now he wants to try :~) I will have to make sure we have some washable markers first, though!
Yeah, they had so much fun with it. I figured, hey, we are just going to get baths in a while anyway, so go for it.
Just a word of advice about this to all the Moms. I did stay close by them in the kitchen while they were drawing. I would not take their word that they wouldn't draw on the wall or floors because they are kids. I just brought my laundry to the kitchen table to fold, and did some dishes and cleaning around in the kitchen.
Also, I keep the box of markers up on top the refridgerator, so they have to ask me when they want to use them. That way there are no surprises.
My mother would have had a strok if I did that:) my how times change. Love the toe nails - too cute:)
I bet that was quite the sight when they painted Abby!!
Aidan had one purple line on his belly that didn't come off for a couple of days.
I guess it worked, because I was voted the most artistic in my high school yearbook, and to this day, people still ask my why I'm doing pharmacy, when they think I should be an artist!
