I wanted to upload a few new pics, I had a pop up that said you need to install gather uploader active X, did anyone else have to do this? I never had to do this before, it this something new? I'm so leary of downloading because of a few problems I have had. Any advice and info would be greatly appreciated.

I uploaded some picture this morning and I didn't have to do that.
I JUST TRIED TO MAKE A PHOTO ESSAY ...PIX UPLOADED BUT WHEN I TRIED TO POST I GOT AN ERROR?!?!?!!?
Nichole - if you have uploaded pix before then you had active-x. It's nothing but an add tool on to your tool bar and sometimes it de-installs.
Find where your add-ons are, a little box will pop up and show you all the add-on choices you have, click active-x and save and you're back in business.
For some reason it occassionally deleted the add on and you just find the box and activate it again.
No big deal - nothing to worry about - but unless you have it, you will not be able to upload pictures.
Should be no problem, you need it for photos. I had to install a newer version after the last upgrade. The gather link makes it easy. Good luck.
What Rose stated above is correct. Sometimes an ActiveX component can be damaged/corrupted, requiring it to be reinstalled.
ty everyone for your help.
