Took her to see the Dr. today and she has strep. The Dr. said with the fever so high and her not having a runny nose or anything then its more les NOT the teeth.. Her ears were fine but Tonsils were really red. So she is now on Amoxocillen.. She has been doing great today.. not much of any fever.. I done tylenol & motrin every 6 hours today to help her with pain.. She is sleeping, eating, and playing well.. Not too fussy as long as Im holding her.. which I do not just sit around and do...:) I make her get down and play or something rather than me hold her as much as she would like right now :)
Thanks for all the concerns.. Sorry it took so long to reply about her.. I have had a busy day and computer kept freezing up earlier when I did have some time.. go figure..
My mom once told me about the cool bath to help break a fever.. works every time. I do not do it though unless the fever is very high like 103 maybe higher and tylenol or motrin wont bring it down withing 30-45 minutes..
I will not take my kids to the ER unless their fever is high and will not go down after tylenol, motrin or a cool bath.. Alot of times my kids will get high temps and be sick and it only be viral.. They cant take meds for just a viral unless they can pinpoint exactly what it is,.. So I wait until Im sure i need to go. My mom is the nurse for the Dr so if something gets to outa hand I call her and she calls the dr.. :) thats nice too ;)
I have seen to many girls take their babies to ER for a "lower" fever.. 100- 104 without giving them tylenol motrin no cool bath.,.. nothing.. So they get to hospital adn set for hourse waiting to be sen they give the child tylneol or motrin and send them home normally with nothing more needed.. drives me crazy././ NO OFFENSE to anyone.. I know some of you have probably had bad experiences with fevers or whatever and I am simply talking about some people I know.. So Im a bit more strict when heading to the ER..

Glad her fever is going down and that she is no fussy.
as long as my GIRLS are fine love to all
Glad to hear you found out what was wrong.
Good to hear.
Get well soon, Kairi!
Glad you found out what was causing the fever
I'm glad she is on the mend. I only take my kids to the ER for gushing blood or possible breaks. (Only my youngest Zach has ever been, stitches twice!!) I''ve never had to take them for a fever or anything like that, thank GOD. I also hate sitting in the hospital for hours at a time.
Sorry she is sick. Strep is no fun!
I'm glad to hear that the problem seems to have been found, and I hope she will be back to her normal self in no time.
I agree with the fever, but I do caution that it needs to be taken care off and closely observed (with the bath, cold wash cloths, no clothes, tylenol etc.
When Sky was about 14 months he got a fever out of nowhere, I undressed him and sat with him in my arms while talking to my sister in law. All of a sudden he just started having fever seizures, and the boy actually stopped breathing while I held him in my arms.
I had never heard of fever seizures, but apparently they are not harmful and the breathing does start back up again. It was very scary though, and I am so thank ful that I had my sister-in-law there as she is a nurse, and my brother there to call for the ambulance.
Glad she is doing better. I rarely take my daughter to the ER for a fever unless there are several other symptoms with it.
Glad she is doing better.
Glad she is doing better. Strep must be going around. My best friend in Minnesota just got it too. Plus a few people around here as well. Hope she is all the way better by the end of the weekend
Poor little thing, I'm glad to hear something is working. I hope she's feeling much better real soon.
Glad she is feeling better. I hate going to the ER between all the times I had to go with my son, and now with me I hate it. Nicholas never had a low grade temperature. Once he was sick it always shot up to 103 - 104 few times got higher. He had Epilepsy and those fevers was dangerous for him. If I got lucky enough to catch a low grade temperature I would try a dose of Tylenol and if it didn't work off we went.
Thank God!hugs to mommy and baby.
thanks for the up date..
Glad she's feeling better! I was worried about you guys!
I am so glad she is feeling better. I appologize for the info I left on your last post about it, saying that a temp can safely get as high as 111 in a child - I ordinarily do not leave things like that without links to sites that are trusted, like the AMA - and that day I just could not find the link. Please accept my appology for that, I usually never comment on these kids of posts because I myself do not have kids and would HATE to give the wrong advice.
