The officials at the federal supermax prison in Florence, Colorado, have "determined that two books written by President Barack Obama contain material 'potentially detrimental to US national security' and rejected an inmate's request to read them."
The books that are allegedly harmful to American national security are "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope."
Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, an American citizen, who is serving a 30-year sentence "for joining al-Qaida and plotting to assassinate then-President George W. Bush" requested the books in August 2008, before Barack Obama became the president of the United States.
It's unclear when the determination was made that Obama's books are "potentially detrimental to national security."
Everything is indeed possible in America!
Even to be a president of the United States and have your books banned as harmful to national security.

Abu Ali requested the books in August, before Obama was elected. In a short, handwritten note on a prison complaint form, Abu Ali argues that the two rejections "violate my 1st amend. rights" - referring to the part of the U.S. Constitution that promises free speech among other rights.

Prison rules are not like anything else in the world. In Floroida, inmates are not allowed to receive newspaper clippings, but they are allowed to receive photocopies of newspaper clippings. Somebody obviously sees the logic in it!

Okay, Vickey, I will just have to tell my self that I feel really sorry for you that you seem to get off on being rude, and that this condescending attitude you have towards others seems to give you a self esteem boost. I think that is very sad. I have no problem with my comprehension, I can see where you are coming from. I, however, prefer to approach a person based on the issue I disagree with instead of attacking their intelligence. I am interested in this because you said that I attacked you no less than THREE times, and then went on to imply that I may have ADD, comprehension problems, and that I'm boring.
