My selective listing of events this weekend.
WORLD'S LARGEST CATSUP BOTTLE FESTIVAL. Sunday, 11am to 5pm. In Collinsville at the American Legion Hall (1022 Vandalia). Collinsville is home to a water tower that resembles a catsup bottle (I'll reluctantly stick with their spelling). There's a hot dog eating contest, catsup tasting contest, hula hoop contest, and a band at 3:30pm, the Quarter Draw Band. In conjunction with the CIA Car, Truck and Motorsycle Show. Resgitration from 10am-1pm.
CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART SHOW. Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm at Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site in Collinsville. More than two dozen Native American artists will exhibit. Representing a dozen tribes, the exhibitors will have items on display and sale in a variety of media, to include paintings, piottery, silerwork, flutes, dolls, pipes, beadwork, and sculpture. At the Interpretive Center. Very interesting; I've been to the art show before.
