Greetings, Gather writers. It's Thursday....and that means it's time to submit some well-crafted writing. For today's Writing Essential I'd like you to try your hand at writing the news. Choose an actual headlined topic or make one up. It can be frivolous or serious.
Did you know that Erma Bombeck wrote news copy for a department store newsletter? As a writer, you can never underestimate the importance of anything you write.
Submit your news reports to Gather Writing Essential and be sure to use Thursday Writing Essential in your tags.
I'll look f
orward to reading the news!

Here is one news article:
South Africa: Supporting alleged war criminals while ignoring the victims in Darfur
Very interesting.
I just did a rather amusing new-sy piece last night when I wasn't able to get to sleep...I'll submit it :)
I love Erma Bombeck.... haven't read any of her books in a long time though...should look for some.
If I were meant to be living in a bowl of cherries, I wouldn't be in the pits.
One of my favorite books of hers...

News! All important News! I will see what I can do, but I am feeling more poetic today...
Featured in the Triple Name Club.
This should be a fun exercise! ...and one that a writer of any skill level can participate in.
I am not a big fan of the news. It's so boring for me.
But, I did a very fictional piece a long while ago. It was rather amusing, if I do say so myself. I could re-post it..
Even though Thursday is practically over. Sigh.
I lost track of time today!
I re-posted an article of mine from over a year ago.
I hope you have a chance to read it. It's hilarious!
