One of my neighbors loves to go to the buffet to eat. She tries to get there right at the tail end of the "lunch" schedule... to pay the lower price.
We went to a buffet yesterday. I am not used to all this sushi - in NYC, for all you can eat sushi, the cost is over $20... here in CA, it's about $8.
I love the idea of eating/sampling many different items. The quality here was not the same as where I'd eaten last week; the other had been much tastier. Plus they had one of my favorite sodas - Fresca (diet grapefruit soda). I was not even able to eat dessert, I felt so miserable.
Well, when I eat that much, even at 4 o'clock, there's no dinner for me! THAT'S a good thing.

It sounds like you enjoyed your late lunch!
We have a very nice buffet here. I try to get there around 4ish also. They are just refilling for the dinner group. Very good food.
I love to go to places that have a buffet so I can try different things. That way, I will know if I like it or not, and may want to fix something like that at home.
I don't eat Chinesse food, but I love buffeets, and I especially love Indian buffeets for all of their vegetarian options. That's a great price too.
I love sushi, but never had it at a buffet. Not sure I would trust it served that way, although in California, I guess there would be a bigger turnover rate.
very rapid turn over.
This place had mussels, clams, crab legs... many things I don't eat.
Problem with sushi is WHITE RICE! Oh, well.
I love chinese food
