It would probably have to be a Japanese film by the name of Death Note 2: The Last Name.
Well I will say my favorite movie is Cast away and brand brothers..
I would have to say Harold and Maude
THAT is a good movie!
Dracula (1931-B & W starring Bela Lugosi)
When Harry Met Sally
Steel Magnolias
My all time favorite movie is Sullivan's Travels (1941) with Joel McCrae. Although It's A Wonderful Life is pretty close :)
My favorite of all movies is MUSIC MAN! I never buy movies, cannot afford it, but I bought that one, and it is a keeper!
If you've never seen it, then you must, or you'll never know what you missed out on, and children love it.
One of my favorites, too - a pure classic!
The Lord of the Rings trilogy...
:O)
Ben Hur or star wars or terminator
I was trying to decide between The Goodby Girl and Max Dugan Returns and then I remembered Harvey with Jimmy Stewart....That;s my favorite...Harvey.
Oh my, how could I have forgotten Harvey and one of the most wonderful actors (and nicest of people) of all time, Jimmy Stewart!
The Ten Commandments
White Christmas, I can watch this movie all year long.
Couldn't we do a Top 10? This is really hard, but I think
"To Kill A Mockingbird."
Forest Forest Gump
Wizard of OZ. I am from Kansas. I also lived one block from the Little Person who played the Mayor of Munchkinland. In fact my hometown has a yellow brick road and a Munchkinland.
The Piano is definitely my all time favorite. Very romantic-very dramatic..
Shawshank Redemption. I love how he is patient through out everything they do to him and then in the end he really works them over and gets to live the high life. Great movie
There are so many good movies, but today I watched The Bachelor Mother, maybe I'm listing it because it's fresh in my mind, or maybe because it's hilarious. I'm not even a huge Ginger Rogers fan, but I love this movie 8)
Definitely To Kill a Mockingbird, and the book might be my all time favorite book too.
Tie - Gone With The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, A League of Their Own and Bull Durham
No Way Out, Pretty Woman, The Sting
The Green Mile was a great movie and so was Pretty Women
Oh my gosh! There are so many to pick from. I have lots and lots of favorites! LOL
Lately the kids, ok and me too, lol, have been renting and watching Daniel Boone from Netflix. My kids love Daniel Boone!
My very, very, very most favorite is....ummmm....thinking....Dreamer with Dakota Fanning. It was inspired by a True Story.
North By Northwest
What a great movie!!
somethings gotta give
Great film. How 'bout As Good As It Gets?
Return of the King, Stargate, and Independence Day
The Green Mile is one of my all time favorite movies.
I cannot choose one... different ones for different reasons - I loved Finding Nemo for the humor... and for Ellen; I loved Field of Dreams, and many others
So many great movies!! Doctor Zhivago. Oh, and of course, Gone with the Wind. Perhaps something like: West Side Story. so many choices to make
Some Like It Hot
Miracle on 34th Street the original
Oh I love that too, even though I didn't like Maureen O'Hara or John Payne.
Twilight I liked a lot. It was way different from a lot of vampire movies.
Enter the Dragon was just one in my top five.
It's a cartoon, but Monsters, Inc. was my all-time favorite. Everyone of the grandkids loved it and we've played it over and over again and I still don't get tired of it.
One of my favs is Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
Forgot about that one-excellent!!
My favorite movie of all time is "Elephant Walk" with Elizabeth Taylor. I love it when she's in her living room running from charging elephants in high heels, and they never catch her.
"Holiday Inn", "Love, Actually", and "August Rush" are my top favs. Each is so different, it's hard to choose one.
Pretty Woman.Note book are my favorite movies.
As far as classic movies, To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorites. More recently, I really liked The Pursuit of Happyness.
True Grit is my all time favorite. My modern favorites are the Bourne movies.
I really liked Moma Mia the movie, also enjoyed My Greek Wedding, i also enjoyed watching The Fast And Furious with son. I am a member of Net Flix so it is hard to pick just one, there are so many good ones.
That's an incredibly hard choice to make. Being the Disney fan that I am, I'm going to have to stick with The Little Mermaid. Yea, I'm childish, but I'm not afraid to say it. :D
As a kid it was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Now it was Walking Across Egypt.
A lot of good movies have been listed here, but my all time favorite is "The Wizard of Oz." I think the first time I saw it I was in the second grade and I've seen it at least once a year since then. Now I have my own copy as it doesn't seem to be on TV as much as it was in years past.
a few of my fav Die Hard,Tombstone, and xmas vacation
I have so many favorites I think my favorite scary movie is Rose Red -action movie is the 300 - than there is Troy or gladiator - in Scifi it would be the Thing the remake with Kurt Russell- I really love movies so it hard to pick just one :)
My two favorites are "Gone With the Wind" and "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?"
Cinema Paradiso : the beauty of the story of child in post WWII Italy and his developing into a teen then a man is beautifully told. It is sentimental without being over the top. It is a memoir in film and about film.
Grease. Hands down. Don't even need to think about it.
It would FOREST GUMP
I'm tempted to name a classic, like "Star Wars", but I'm going with a lesser-known title:
Mixed Company
There are really way too many great films out there to be limited to one. Since others have already mentioned "The Wizard of Oz" and "Star Wars", let me add "Casablanca" and "Field of Dreams" to the list.
I have so many but I'll say A Thin Line
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn -OR- How Green Was My Valley -OR- Desk Set-too hard to decide!
Mine is the original 'Longest Yard' with Burt Reynolds.
Unfair to ask for just one...but I love My Dinner with Andre...quirky but fascinating look at being alive in the world and living each day
Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back
From Taun Tauns to Walkers to Yoda, incredible. The Asteriod Chase and the Light Sabre Duel. Irving Kirshner is the best Star Wars director (with all due respect to George, who was also a major factor in this masterpiece).
Hard to pick one but the all time best comedy is:
MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL
Mine has to be McLintock or Blazing Saddles, both are fantastic comedy westerns
Without a doubt, The Sound of Music, but some of the old classics like High Noon are also great.
too many to name individually( many have already been named) - one missing from the list - for it's superb actng and cinematography alone it should be mentioned- "Brokeback Mountain"
Singin' In The Rain!
It is difficult to choose a favorite movie because I love classics, musicals, comedies, etc for different reasons. Road to Perdition, Sound of Music, Philadelphia Story, Les Miserables, A Place in the Sun are all movies that I can watch again and again.
Philadelphia Story was a lot of fun.
I've heard Orson Welles radio version of Les Miserables, they have that at the library.
I loved the orginal Rocky. I also loved Elizabeth. Any great human interest story is a candidate
An affair to remember (The original with Cary Grant). I cry at the end of it every time.
Lost in Translation is the best, to me.
Other favorites are Paperhouse, Groundhog Day, The Dark Knight, Amadeus, Life of Brian, Team America, To Have and Have Not.
Crash - i think every high school student should have to see this.
As far as classica I love The Way We Were!
Tomorrow, I might say something else. Today: Dealth of A Salesman with Dustin Hoffman.
one of them is Forrest Gump :)
Dirty Dancing for sure...and comedy What about Bob
Never get tired of watching "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". It's not the best, nor the funniest, but I am fascinated by it and always makes me laugh. The All-Star cast is unequalled in any movie you can think of.
I absolutely love "It's a Mad, Mad Mad, Mad World" I also like another movie from the same era "The Russians are Coming."
I love horror movies and my favorite is the Halloween series about Michael Myers.
lawrence of arabia, hands down. there just isn't anything that begins to compare.
I have few : One old DRACULA, TITANIC, FRANKENSTEIN, RUSH HOUR
To me, movies are all about escaping from the real world. Maybe that's why all of my favorites are the old classics. If it has happy ending, I'm a sucker for it. I love "Arsenic and Ol Lace". I don't think there's a movie Capra made that I don't like. Yes, that includes "It's A Wonderful Life".
I do have to say that I will watch The Dirty Dozen any time it comes on TV. I can go through a lot of the lines with the actors, as I've seen this so many times.
