Why do we like celebrity mugshots so much? I'd say it's because we see that celebrities are just like the average person, and in some cases, more messed up than us. The latest photo to publicly embarrass a celebrity is the Joyce Dewitt mugshot. You may know her better from Three's Company. Dewitt was arrested this 4th of July weekend for drunk driving.

Quite honestly, I think that Joyce Dewitt got exactly what she deserved. It was a dumb decision, and everyone who makes this type of mistake needs to learn a lesson. Hopefully this will make her seriously reconsider boozin' and cruisin' every again!

I agree!
OMG! Janet!
She did get what she deserved.
It is a shame that with fame comes temptation and a feeling of invincability.
I don't remember her at all, but of course, everyone remembers Suzanne.
people are all just people, one should not expect anything else.
I'm glad no one was injured or killed by her bad decision.
She got what she deserved?
How many people here have made bad decisions but haven't been caught by an intrusive government? How do you know she wasn't able to drive? How do you know she was a danger to others?
Perhaps we're all a little too quick to judge others. Judging others isn't wise.
I agree, John Rebel. Why so many take such great delight in things like this??? I wonder how many of these claim to be followers of Christ?
Because driving under the influence is a danger to others. It's stupid and inconsiderate for anyone to do this.
Yes, she deserves some public embarrassment as does anyone who does this.
"How many people here have made bad decisions but haven't been caught by an intrusive government?"
I've made lots of bad decisions (that were against the law) and didn't get caught. But if I did get caught, I expected a penalty. Why should you or Joyce Dewitt be treated any differently?
"How do you know she wasn't able to drive? How do you know she was a danger to others?"
Because apparently she was over the legal limit. How do you know she was able to drive safely, and that she wasn't a danger to others? Would you prefer to do away with laws regarding driving while impaired and deal with people after they've killed or injured somebody?
My question is do I deserve to know that more than 2,000 people came to view this ridiculous post and there's a possibility that at least one of them might have seen my name associated with the website that promotes this crap.
What exactly is ridiculous about it? And for someone is complaining about association, it's nice that you bothered to comment to tie yourself even more closely to it.
Isn't she too old to be acting like this? She is over 60 years old for goodness sake. Hopefully she'll get what every other drunk driver will get-Points, jail time and possibly a suspended license.
She got what she asked for. Fame does not make anyone special...or it shouldn`t anyway.
She got what she deserved?

She was caught drinking and driving I think her impairment is implied in that statement alone.
She will just get a slap on the wrist. In today's society DWI is not considered to be a big thing and it should be.
Juan, I think you should check this out further. A first offence DUI, DWI these days includes a stiff fine (minimum $1500.00) possible jail time, three to six months alcohol class (at a price of $800.00) A.A. classes once a week for the term and three years probabtion with one month hard suspension for drivers license and three months suspension (only to work, a.a. classes and back). Also car insurance will double or triple for 3 to 10 years. Plus you are inadmissable to Canada and most countries outside of the U.S. for five years after your probabation is complete (and then you must pay 200.00 for a rehibilitation application). I hardly think this is a slap on the wrist and will surely make first time offenders think twice. Maybe we can put them to death but I think our legal system is working hard to keep punishment to the crime and not violating the constitution.
What bugs me so much about celebrity drunk driving cases is that they can afford a taxi!!!
Liz, Liz, Liz... Do you know that a lot of the people you refer to as "celebrities" may have no income whatsoever? Of course, of course this is no justification for anyone to drink and drive but consider this: Lindsay Lohan may have tons of money and be crazy to drink and drive when she could have a taxi or limo but...someone who was on a series 30 years ago may not be in that place. Residuals come down to change after a few years of going down a depriciating scale and work may not be forthcoming. So the very celebirties you lump together like any ethnicity or social status you lump together may be very different in their lifestyles. I can't speak for Joyce and I can only hope she is making money and working but did it ever occur to you that their isn't any pay being offered for someone who was once on a TV show? Maybe you make more than her so just make sure you book that taxi if and when you drink (but of course from your more holy than thou attitute I assume you never touch the stuff).
Larry, Larry, Larry...I guess if me not wanting a drunk driver to kill someone makes me "holy than thou", then I'll wear that title proudly. However, you are ridiculing anyone who chooses not to drink with your last statement. Guess who has the "attitute" now?
If you can afford to drink you can afford a cab. If you can't afford a cab, or can't have a friend drink, then don't go over the limit. Simple as that.
She needs to face justice like anyone else drunk driving is so very dangerous.
Having lost a sister to a drunk driver in 1977, I could care less how embarassed she is or anything else. Anyone who gets behind the wheel drunk is a nitwitt punk needlessly sucking up perfectly good oxygen.
Foolish, that's for sure she is an adult who could have made better choices.
Well, Hopefully this was her first, and last offense. Fortunately no one was hurt, and maybe she will have learned to be more careful from this point on.
