My graduation class will be having its, uhhh, well the 35th (I can't believe it) reunion. Instead of the usual dinner and dance at a nice restaurant, they are having a weekend reunion. Starting with a cookout on Friday evening, which everyone can bring their families to. Then Sat. will be a shopping for the gals and golfing for the guys afternoon. Sat. night will be the usual dinner/dance.
I'm wondering if people will go to this, and if they do why. A friend made an interesting comment to me that she already saw the people she cared about and why would she go to see people she wasn't friends with and that didn't care about her in high school. This really got me thinking. Is a class reunion just a show off time? Maybe an adult version of a popularity contest? Do people go that haven't been successful?
Now I have to decide if I'm going. It really doesn't seem like it has been 35 years since I was in high school.

I went to my 10th and didn't have a good time because the music was too loud to hold a conversation. When the 20th came around, I doubted anyone would remember me and I felt like I really haven't done anything like had kids, a full time job, or anything else, so I didn't want to pay all that money to attend another party with loud music. I doubt I'm ever going to any of the future reunions, either.
My high school just had it's 10th year reunion. I wanted to go, but I couldn't. I wanted to see old friends.
My five year is coming up and I do not want to go! So glad to get out of there and really no desire to go back and mingle!
Next year will be my fifth reunion but I have no desire to go. I didn't like high school and there were only a few people I hungout with. I really don't see a point in going...
