So I found out much to my delight that I'd have Friday off, thus meaning a three-day weekend.
Then on Friday, I went to the emergency room with Laura, whose blood pressure was 192 over 120.
Yeah.
I've spent the past few days - including today - just home with her, taking care of her, and making sure she stays calm and relaxed. She has appointments with the doctors tomorrow, and she got this prescription from the emergency room that seems to help stabilize her blood pressure, and it seems to be working - it's been mostly stable today. Here's hoping that tomorrow we find out what's going on, we deal with it, life goes on. Things are a little calmer now, so I'm going to try to write some stuff, and be calm, and not panic.
So.
As an aside, I've also been trying to fix L's new laptop -- she had this crappy old Toshiba laptop which kept burning out power cords, and we tried replacing it when we had some money and things were looking good, with an HP Compaq 6720s. Worked fine for a while (even though it had Vista), but then it stopped working, and it's never been happy since. Turns out the hard drive may just be bad. The hard drive... can you guess who made it? Toshiba. That's right, it's a Toshiba MK2552GSX hard drive, and it seems to be failing entirely. Don't buy Toshiba. Ever. I'm trying to format the laptop's hard drive as a last-ditch attempt to salvage some functionality out of it, but it might just be a lost cause, and I might have to figure out how to replace a laptop hard drive.
I've also been contemplating a game design, the spiritual successor of Legend of the Green Leupak ... well, I've got it half-written already in my head, but I need to actually code it. Plenty of wonderful ideas do not a game make, after all. And really, the big thing holding me back is time. It's been bothering me right now, though, because I'm worried about Laura's health, and if I could figure out some way to work from home and still make enough money to keep us happy and healthy, that would be ideal. As it is... well, I know how I'm going to get to work on Wednesday, but I don't know what is going to happen beyond that.
So. How was your weekend?

Oh boy I hope that Laura's blood pressure gets better as the consequences are very bad. I know as my Dad has high blood pressure.
Our fourth of July was super nice and happy and fun!! ;p

Sorry to hear Laura isn't feeling well. I hope her blood pressure gets back to normal soon
Hoping Laura is feeling better!
Hoping Laura is feeling much better now. I fight numbers like that all the time. It is very frightening. Only the person experiencing it knows how horrible it really is. I hope the blood pressure pills help. If it doesnt there is one that can be given to add to it. When it gets out of hand at any given time. In about 20 minutes this medication will help bring it down faster but will make her need to sleep after it works.
Hoping Laura gets the blood pressure stabilized quickly.
Hope Laura feels better and you get everything sorted out.
Hope they find out why her blood pressure is up and are able to control it . Scary stuff.
