I posted the article below last week. However, the article was flagged by the Gather gestapo and Gather editors as "intended for mature audiences."
The same story appeared in every major media and blog around the world. Not one article warned it was for mature audience only.
Only some of the Gather's sensitive [and homophobic] members thought this post should be flagged and removed.
At the same time, some twenty people left comments wondering why would a post discussing a landmark court ruling which overturned a law that was discriminatory and a violation of fundamental human rights be flagged and removed.
So, let's try this again. This time censored.
Homosexual [bleep] not a crime any more in India
The High Court in the Indian capital Delhi has ruled that homosexual [blleep] between consenting adults is not a criminal act any more.
This ruling overturns a 148-year-old British colonial law that described a same-sex [bleep] as an "unnatural offense."
The old British law stated that homosexual [bleep] is a "carnal [bleep] against the order of nature."
Those caught in an homosexual [bleep] faced 10-year prison sentences under the law.
In this landmark ruling, the High Court stated that the old law was "discriminatory and a violation of fundamental rights."
About 80 countries around the world still outlaw homosexual [bleep].

The Christian Right perhaps or, as you said, someone who's suffering deep inside.
Homophobia is everywhere, Savo - even here on a site theoretically for intelligent adults.
Let's see them try and flag your sexy bleep ??? !!!
They should flag it for misspelling:)
I think some articles get flagged for mature content just to prevent them from being read by those have chosen not to be notified about the publication of mature content articles.
That may be so, but Savo's subject matter was quite obvious from the get-go, and those who were not interested in reading more did not have to read past the title!!! Now, had he posted something with a title like "strawberry angelfood cake, my grandmother's recipe" and then below pasted the article in question, THAT would be rather misleading, but he did not and would not do that. The subject matter was made quite obvious in the title.
I was suggesting that some people are using flaggimg to censor an article just because the article presents an opinion with which they disagree,
Children love Gather, sneek behind there parents back and read until their hearts turns black. They must be pretected at all costs.
I would flag this post, but I must rush to another protest march aganst homesual marrage.
Savo!
Walker and i were just saying that the thing we like about your writing is that you are not afraid to say what is REALLY on your mind...and why should you be? Something tells me the idiots who flagged the original probably haven't seen the world beyond their own driveways. You, on the other hand, have lived a life they probably coudln't even begin to comprehend. They have no right to criticize.
It may no longer be illegal but social custom can be just as powerful a punishment.
What I found interesting is that in Iran, the state actually pays for transgender surgery--because it is viewed as a correction of having the wrong body. Homosexuality is still a sin, however. And women still wear the veil in public....
It appears to have worked, no flag as of yet. The news is great.
