RedGage is a new social bookmarking web site with a pretty cool twist. What I find cool is that when you bookmark your gather content links you get paid for views of that bookmark, but if the viewere clicks through you also get views here at gather.

Within my first 24 hours of submitting to RedGage I made $5.20 . It appears that I got some sort of bonus from having one of my submissions featured. Which definitely peeked my interst.
Here is what I have discovered.
"RedGage is a content archive where you can upload all of your photographs, bookmarked links, blogs, documents, videos, etc. and make money from your material. RedGage allows users to upload all of their content in one convenient place. With an element of social networking, RedGage allows users to showcase their material and generate more traffic." This is how Redgage.com describes their website and what it offers.
In an unnofficial tongue it means the photos you upload to Flickr, the posts you write on your blog, the videos you add to YouTube and all of your gather content can be shared on this site; which in return will share its revenue with you. The revenue is as one can guess generated from advertising from various ad networks which then revolve around the content. There are no expectations on quantity or timing of putting up content with regards to the creators therefore and the copyrights always remain ours.
One point against Redgage to me would come from real bloggers who might question the point of sharing revenue with someone else when they can use the ad networks on their own blogs . However; from Redgage's perspective they do have a couple of advantages. One obviously being better exposure than a blogger could possibly get on their own and since the majority of the revenue is on the basis of CPM, redgage sort of expects its us to get our friends on board to see our content and thus increase traffic. Now if all users begin to do this, the traffic on the site is bound to increase and every content creator benefits from this addition. Moreover, besides blog content Redgage is also looking to include Flickr photos and videos as content which do not have earning options.
Also the earnings are nothing to really get excited about, unless you get featured and earn bonus income. During a quick tour through the "featured" pages of the site's six sections - All Content, Blogs, Photos, Videos, Documents, Links - I was hard-pressed to find any content that earned more than $1 from advertising, and 1- - 4 cent earnings were common.
My current Earnings after only two weeks:

With 1264 Total Unique Views. Learn How!
RedGage pays a set amount per 1,000 views and is dynamic for each user.
My Current Rate: $1.16| Views | Average Rate | Earnings | |
| All Content | 1264 | $1.15 | $1.46 |
| <hr style="COLOR: #ddd;"> | |||
| Feature Bonuses | $15.90 | ||
| $17.36 Total Earnings: | |||
RedGage explains that these numbers will improve once the site gets more traffic which will essentially be driven by more users and content coming on board. In their own words -" Don't get discouraged by the low rates right now, as soon as the user base goes up this week so will the pay." Of course now it is out of beta and available for the larger public to use. From what I have researched RedGage has been in Beta for the past 18 months and has just been recently open to the public.
For my bookmarks to my gather posts I simply link to them via the upload button in the top right hand corner, give it a title, tags & a brief description and then I click continue to add a thumbnail image and then I hit submit.
This is how my upload looks once it is in place at RedGage

I also think that google does appear to crawl and index these RedGage bookmarks.
For me anyway it has been super easy to do and it appears to be a quality bookmark and quality back link site. A bonus was that I have also received some nice feedback from with in the existing RedGage community.
I did have a minor issue when I first started to upload the thumbnail images to my content; they didnot hold and spread to all of my content instead of just that upload. So I used the contact button on the bottom of every page and they emailed me back within four hours and they promptly set about correctingthe glitch. IT did take the tech three days to finally fix but what was particulaly nice is that they contacted me by email daily to let me know the status and to reassure me that they were indeed making progress on fixing this for me. And yes they did fix the glitch!!
All in all so far so good, and yes some of the first gather people who won the $50 Visa GCs have already received them. And at my last count about 14 gather members won the $50 Visa GC and tonight they changed the contest and increased the anty and yes Two more gather winnerw won

Sounds like RedGage is really working out for you and others who have won the fifty dollar gift cards.
Great for all of you who have all of the extra time to invest in this venture.
Continued success to you and other Gather friends. :)
So far I am only spending 1 hour at night on Redgage , and at the same time I have another window open to Gather. So it is not really alot of time to invest.
I too am only only about an hour a day...so far I have received 1 bonus.
well this is a real nice story about Redgage, and I will hang in there, because within two days it showed I had made $12 and something, but then the next time I went back, the balance was cut down to 30 cents. So I do hope it gets better for me there. Sounds like you are doing very well as some of the others from Gather. Maybe mine will pick up.
Connie, Email them and ask what in the world happened, I am sure they will fix what ever happened.
I also like that you get rewarded for page views at Redgage and at Gather if you're sharing Gather links. That's pretty cool. I wish they'd get the feature fixed where you can just upload your blogs and such. But in the meantime, we can share photos and links.
I uploaded my blog the same way I entered my links and photos. Only the tool that will upload stuff from sites like youtube and flickr & facebook is not activated yet
Click on the upload button at the top of the page then on the left hand side you will see these
Blog
Photo
Video
Document
Link
They all work click on blog and add your blogs URl just like the links & photos.
The upload tool is not for these that isw for facebook, flickr, & Youtube uploads
sounds interesting - i will check it out - ty 4 sharin :)
If you join when asked tell them chstress sent you
I'm so confused.........
maybe I should get some shut eye............
i'm new to it, but haven't posted anything there yet.
well i won the 50.00 and cashed out and am still awaiting it we shall see havent had alot of time to spend there since the puppies were born but if i get it or if i dont i will let everyone know because im startin to get weary of them bein i aint got my card or a responce from them yet...
You won on the 27, And yes that has been 8 days ago but only 5 business days have passed since your won..
Adamsmommie L won on june 24 and received hers on July 2
Exactly 7 business days
here is her post
What I did with my $50.00 Redgage gift card!
There have been others from gather who have won
Bob Cronley for instance has been a member of Redgage for over 10 months now and has cashed out and received his money everytime.
Melinda ~choosing happiness~ S. has also been a member for 8 months and has also received payments.
Do not be hasty at calling the site a scam IT IS LEGIT you just have not giving them time. After all gather can take up to 21 business days to payout!
I just wrote a post about them too I have earned over $10 in about 8 days.
How do they pay? gift card, paypal, or debit card? I can join if it's gift cards or visa debit cards, but I don't have and am not willing to sign up for a paypal account.
The first time you win they send you are Visa Card with your earnings on that card; do not lose the card as once you have the card in your hot little hands the card is then reloaded with all your earnings everytime you cash out after $25 of winnings.
I won 50 yet that is due to the contest, the other is coming slow, yet I have faith and will get it going asap,, I am up to .15 on contents,,,,
I am having problem inviting friend only,,
glad to see all the particpite in the Red gage group this is cool for us to see who is who and get more involved...
I'm still learning my way around-I haven't earned a thing yet, but I am as active as I have time to be. We'll see if the investment turns out to be worth it!
I can not get signed in often.I don't know why yet,but I'll figure it out.
Congrats to you.
I like the idea of red gage, but I am concerned about something - at least four or more times now, while I was commenting on redgage- it threw me off redgage - took me to another site entirely - followed by a barrage of pop up ads I had trouble closing down.
That has never happened to me on gather or any other site I frequent, I found that very disturbing and I'm wondering if others have experienced the same.
Other than that it seems to be a good thing if you win on occasion, because the earnings I've seen so far were nothing to crow about, but maybe in the long run and considering that it adds to our gather views - I'm willing to hang around for a while to see what happens.
Right now I'm just jealous of all the gatherites who've won their daily contest:)
I haven't run into that, but I did run into the "Warning: This site may harm your computer" this morning. Needless to say, I'm not happy about that.
I just joined today and have been having problems loading my profile picture that I want. I tried two different pics and both didn't take. I too also had my Nortons pick up something that wasn't right and blocked it while I was on the site. This has never happened with gather. But I will give it a go and see if I like it after a few weeks. I also wasn't too comfortable with everyone knowing how much you made there, but I guess I will get used to that. Have fun!
I am a member. I like it.
Why am I ignoring it? I signed up then never went back. What's wrong with me??!!
Are recipes very popular?
One or two recipes manage to be featured at least once a week , so yes I would post recipes as my links
Yes, I too love redGage. I have been there 2 weeks and to date have gotten $ 56.88 Which came from a $ 50.00 dollar Visa Card from the drawing and $ 4.50 for a featured article. Yayyyyy.
My computer will NOT allow me to do RedGage, which doesn't bother me, as I just joined GSN, which is the greatest.....I am writing down and journaling every single program I do online (for both myself and "hubby").....want to see exactly how much stuff I do on here....I wouldn't have time for RedGage, anyhow....LOL!
Love it! Ididn't realize you can link the gather articles to redgage and end up with clicks for both sites.
Thanks for sharing this and I have got to start doing it!
YEs, this is the part that is really cool, opening and viewing at redgage gets you views there and when you open the link your view counts here, and you get views here at gather from non gather members too.
I just joined there, I am not doing so well there, but I enjoyed reading your piece on it.
I'm not doing that well there either. I have less than 40 cents at this point. What's the secret?
Submitting content that geets featured. I am following what has gotten featured and try to submit content that is similar and so far it is working.
And I just discovered that content that you may have submitted to redgage ealier might get featured a few weeks after being submitted this has just happened to two more of my pieces that I had submitted two weeks ago when I started there.
That's cool! I'll have to keep that in mind. Thanks, April!
