It's (almost)Official Palin Quit Not To Focus On A Presidential Bid But Because She Will Soon Face Indictment

Seems that Palin's personal attorney is upset over rumors that are defaming her character.

It has been my experience that when every anyone issues a statement denying a charge like this it is usually true.

How many celebrities do the joint statement of "not breaking up" and a week later we find out they knocked up Angelina Jolie?

Palin attorneys threats of lawsuits against any media outlets and personal that print stories regarding the alleged investigation of Palin by the FBI only make me more curious about her alleged involvement with unethical and illegal behavior.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:33pm EDT

My thoughts exactly Juan.

Alan D. Jul 5, 2009, 10:00pm EDT

So a company wins a bid to build a multi million dollar complex under mayor of 6000 people Palin, then turns around and builds Palin's home. And nobody should worry about it. If you say anything we will sue you.

LOL.

Who do these people think they are and, more importantly, where do they think they are? Alaska? Oops.

Sue on, and investigate on. There is another shoe yet to drop.

kind of like she was guilty of all kinds of misconduct that was later dropped? You liberals.... Your track record is almost as pathetic as your intelligence.

"" Almost Official""" You certainly are used to being almost right. Or as they call it where corn don't grow,,,,, WRONG!

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:44pm EDT

The misconduct charges werent dropped Jeff she plea bargained on most of them and had to pay the state back for her childrens travel expenses.

Don(time to open them FEMA camps) S. Jul 5, 2009, 6:31pm EDT

Now now don't bother jeff with facts.

He has no way to understand the truth.

Something missing in one of those cortexes of his tiny brain.

Barb (Gather Site Ferret) Carlson Jul 5, 2009, 10:41pm EDT

Jeff is inventing new and creative uses for quotes, too. If one doesn't do it, add two or even three! Honey, I guess you fell asleep in class during that lesson, but commas are supposed to be one at a time. Don't insult other people's intelligence while looking illiterate.

Kathy W. Jul 6, 2009, 12:43am EDT

Somebody said "ellipsis" in high school, and he looked up...way up...at the moon.

(((smiles)))

Wilka

Jeff H. Jul 6, 2009, 9:28pm EDT

Barb, thanks for correcting my comma error. I am so embarrassed. If you weren't such an anal nag you might have read what I said and might actually have pushed away your liberal anger to respond to it. Or maybe you tried and failed in the attempt. Either way, at least you mustered up something.

Kathi, I'll ask my secretary what "ellipsis" means. It's good to have your kind around. thank you for your service, and THANKS for servicing us for so cheap. I know you wordsmiths take yourselves seriously and think you are better than everybody but your pay scale is embarrassing! You deserve every penny!

Bryan B. Aug 17, 2009, 3:56pm EDT
Calling someone an anal nag doesnt amount to anger huh? Guess that Conservative "innocence" was lost on you. As far as you having a secretary? lol I didnt realize they allowed cashiers at McDonald's to have those. Wow! what a sign of the times!

Lori responded to your comment. Does everyone have to restate the same thing for you to get it? Wait! I guess they do. Thats the way conservative politician act so it seems likely that their followers would have to do the same. So for your benefit in hopes of jump starting your understanding capacity I will repost Lori's comment. Hope Lori doesnt mind.

"The misconduct charges werent dropped Jeff she plea bargained on most of them and had to pay the state back for her childrens travel expenses."
Jeff H. Aug 17, 2009, 9:46pm EDT
"""I didnt realize they allowed cashiers at McDonald's to have those. Wow! what a sign of the times!"""

They won't give you a secretary?

Bryan you can lead a horses ass to knowledge but you can't make them think. There was no plea bargain because that would mean she was charged with a crime. Don't they teach you that on the french fry line at McDonald's you idiot?
Bryan B. Aug 17, 2009, 11:19pm EDT
LOL Cant make em think and you can come up with nothing original instead copying something I said. And you call me an idiot? Oh my being insulted by someone with the I.Q. of gravel really hurts..lol! At least you tried though :) Thanks for the slight humor.
Jeff H. Aug 17, 2009, 11:59pm EDT
I am not the one who thinks Palin plea bargained a deal. If you read all of the comments, even Lori admitted that she was wrong to say that dipshit. I would expect a fathead 80's queer to have grown out of the mcDonalds jokes too but then again you are attacking me for atticking an article that has proven to be nothing but B.S. numbnuts.

After further review, you're still an idiot......
Bryan B. Aug 18, 2009, 2:53am EDT

LMAO!!! Your rich use of the English language astounds me! An internet warrior behind a keyboard huh? lol You dont pack enough ammo in that tiny head of yours to come up with something besides cussing at me and calling me hateful names? As far as growing out of McDonald's jokes, I did but I figured with your limited intelligence I would need to step down to your level so you would understand them. Apparently I was right.

On a side note, I thought comments fell off of you as noted in one of your earlier comments. Apparently not since you just get more hateful as you go. You also get more boring with each frustrated comment you leave. So go play with your toys and have a good evening. Im off to find a more intelligent conversation.
Jeff H. Aug 18, 2009, 7:35pm EDT
Oh come on Bryan! Don't get your feathers ruffled. I was just messing with you and was in an offensive mood yesturday. Personally I think you are just bitter that this article was proven to be B.S. and you idiotically decided to ridicule me for pointing it out a month and a half ago. I thought you McDonald's technicians had more sense than that. (Oops I stole your joke again). You are just jealous that I have a secretary........

I think it's your experience that Palin breaths so she's guilty.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:45pm EDT

I would try thinking less Charles.  You are obviously not good at it.

Peter Joseph Swanson Jul 5, 2009, 4:45pm EDT

talks

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:54pm EDT

PJS you know what they say.

How can you tell Palin is lying?

Her lips are moving.

Charles M. Jul 5, 2009, 6:37pm EDT

Well with you around thinking for us why do we need to thunk.

Charles M. Jul 5, 2009, 6:44pm EDT

I just find it hilarious that you and others who call her stupid and irrelevant spend so much time going out of your way to attack her. I mean WOW if you spend this much time on someone you  hate.

Charles M. Jul 5, 2009, 6:53pm EDT

I really can't understand this hatred. I mean did she do something personally to you? I mean I don't like many of Obamas plans and ideas but it would never rise to the level of hatred. I am really stumped. This kind of thing is exactly what many have railed against when it was applied to Obama. And I'm sure you've blasted Obama haters but yet you seem quite comfortable with hatred of Palin. Why?

N. K.* . Jul 5, 2009, 7:32pm EDT

Yes, as a matter of fact she did do something to me personally. She has refused to answer any of my love letters. She won't send me signed photograpgh or a pair of her scanties. Frankly, it hurts to have my deep and abiding love for her spurned like that. Hrrmph..

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 7:52pm EDT

You too Nick.

charles calm down there is no hatred here.

Charles M. Jul 5, 2009, 8:55pm EDT

Really

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 9:44pm EDT

Charles no there is no hatred.

You may see disdain, critisizm, ridicule, and many other things but hatred no.

Charles M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:25am EDT

ok kinda hard to tell the difference sometimes.

Spartan * Jul 6, 2009, 1:40am EDT

......?

Kathy W. Jul 12, 2009, 10:08pm EDT

Charles:  HOOKED on PHONICS...

Sound it out.

Well ... that would give her an excuse for that last speech that made no sense, and she forgot to wink-wink to try and make it make sense ... but it made sense to some "christians", anyway, who channeled it.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:47pm EDT

PJS that kind of got me too.

Her speech was too long and rambling for something that had "been in the works"

Either she is the world worst speaker or this speech was pulled together fast.

Peter Joseph Swanson Jul 5, 2009, 4:51pm EDT

She was utterly incoherent - and for something like giving up her job, and what her job is ??? !!!

And so then she wants another one, much better ???  In that speech she made herself out to be an utter political diva ding-bat !!!

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:53pm EDT

PJS I agree...about the 4th time she said that she had already stated her reasons for resigning I had to ask my husband if he was understanding her and what she was babbling about.

Peter Joseph Swanson Jul 5, 2009, 5:00pm EDT

That's because you're a dirty heathen !!! The special "christians" channeled it !!!

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 5:02pm EDT

That explains it then PJS.

Barb (Gather Site Ferret) Carlson Jul 5, 2009, 10:44pm EDT

Every time you refer to Peter as PJS, I keep reading it "PJ's" (like pajamas). Giggle.

Having the charges drop or being found not guilty does not necessarly make someone innocent.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 4:52pm EDT

She was found not guilty on some and plea bargained on others...there are still a few outstanding I believe.

AC W. Jul 5, 2009, 5:13pm EDT

Well, if she does get indicted, she'll fit right in with the gang in Washington.

A sex scandal would be so much more interesting.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 5:16pm EDT

AC most of the time yes but in this case no.  She has so many kids it show that yes her vag works and she isnt afraid to use it.

Plus we have gotten so immune to Republican sex scandals they are almost humdrum anymore.

Peter Joseph Swanson Jul 5, 2009, 5:19pm EDT

But what if it was a three-way with a snow mobile ??? !!!

Don(time to open them FEMA camps) S. Jul 5, 2009, 6:32pm EDT

Oh my goodness:-)

AC W. Jul 5, 2009, 6:47pm EDT

Immune to Republican sex scandals?

How about these Democrat sex scandals:

Gary Hart (affair), Jim McGreevey (gay affair), Barney Frank (male prostitute ring in his basement), Eliot Spitzer (affair with call girl), Kwame Kilpatrick (affair with staffer), David Paterson (affair), Daniel Inouye (accused of sexual harassment), Gus Savage (accused of fondling), Brock Adams (accused of rape), Fred Richmond (solicited sex from a minor), John Young (gave a raise to a staffer after she gave in to his sex requests), Wayne Hays (hired a sexetary), Gerry Studds (had sex with an underage male House page), Mel Reynolds (sexual assault on a 16 year old).

I'd say that Dems have held their own when it comes to sex scandals.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 7:53pm EDT

OK AC we are immune to anyones sex scandals..does that make it better?

AC W. Jul 5, 2009, 9:32pm EDT

Yes, Lori, it does. Sorry, but couldn't let you limit your comment to Republicans (even though I'm Libertarian and not Republican). It wouldn't have been right.

Looks like someone's giving you low ratings. I'll throw in a "10."

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 9:43pm EDT

In my defense AC in the old days...like the 80's if a Repub had a sexual scandal it really was a scandal....it was kind of expected that Dems didnt know how to keep their knees closed and their zippers shut.

Kathy W. Jul 6, 2009, 12:48am EDT

Lori...back in the old days, repubs didn't have sex.  They "were married."

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 12:57am EDT

Wilka its funny you should mention that.  Years ago I had a friend and he married a woman she was a big wig in the local republican party.  I was talking to him one day and he was bitching about his sex life or lack of.  He said that when he first met his now wife and she told him she doesnt sleep with married men...wasnt til they got married that he figured out what she meant....she slept with no married men including the one she was married too.

I must add a comment to all of this.  I was just listening to the news where a commentator stated her speech had been long and rambling with no true sense of what was next or why she really resigned.  I made the comment to my 21 year old son that perhaps Ms. Palin was off her meds.  He chuckled in agreement.

Marilyn M. Jul 5, 2009, 10:20pm EDT

This issue just shows how divided we still are as a country.  The information from most of the conservative sites looks like this.  (This is from OneNewsNow just a few minutes ago.)

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin didn't wait long to give some hint of what her political life might look like after she leaves office at the end of the month.

After staying out of the public eye for most of Saturday, a day after abruptly announcing she would soon give up her job as governor, Palin indicated on a social networking site that she would take on a larger, national role, citing a "higher calling" to unite the country along conservative lines.

If you listened to Palin at all during her speeeh(es) about this, you would have heard her say that she has been inundated with false accusations ever since she was announced as McCain's running mate.  When the false accusations didn't work, they went after her family and kids.

Someone is really afraid that Sarah might be able to pull the votes next time around.

sharon SugarMomma is a wise woman, Jul 5, 2009, 10:58pm EDT

No Marilyn, they're still just stunned that they picked this woman when they had women like Elizabeth Dole who actually has a brain.  I don't like Dole but she is brighter than that lump.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 11:17pm EDT

Marilyn no one is afraid of Palin at all.  About listening to her speeches I find that nearly impossible.  She babbles incoherently.

I realize you like Palin but the Republicans didnt take her seriously the first time.  They blamed her for McCains loss now whether he would have still lost had he picked anyone else who knows.

It takes money and clout to win.  And she has neither.

The way things are going now if Obama remains as popular as he is at this very moment then anyone that runs against him in 2012 will be a sacrificial lamb.  Someone the Repubs dont care about and just place there because they have no future in the Republican party.

While she may have some charisma that is all she has.

She is a joke to the powers that be at in the Republican party and thats what really matters.

Marilyn M. Jul 5, 2009, 11:31pm EDT

Babbles?  Haven't noticed that at all.  Now, the President, on the other hand has a very hard time putting sentences together on his own...without that teleprompter.

Lori F. Jul 5, 2009, 11:57pm EDT

Marilyn they all use a teleprompter so get over it.

I seriously hope Palin does run in 2012.

Linda B. Jul 6, 2009, 12:05am EDT

Marilyn, Palin doesn't write sentences, just run-on fragments. My son wrote more coherently and cogently when he was in the third grade.

The speech she delivered Friday was ill-organized and repetitive. Frankly, it sounded as if Piper wrote it...and the text reads as if someone had taken hasty notes and then cut and paste clauses without reading it out loud to see if her points were being made. Classic neohphyte speechwriter's mistake.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 12:53am EDT

I hear that Linda.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:07am EDT

Lori, if you recall, Palin was able to do almost her entire acceptance speech at the RNC without a teleprompter because it wasn't functioning.  Obama cannot speak a sentence without one.  As one who has been a professional speaker, I am not impressed with his lack of ability to speak.  Sorry.  I've never had to use a teleprompter, and, no all politicians do not have to use them.

Linda, I dare you to have to give a speech and be nice when you'd like to lash out at the creeps who attacked your children.  I've listened to the speech more than once.  It was much better than Obama's speeches.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:14am EDT

So if the teleprompter wouldnt have been broken she would have used it?  I thought she did use it for the last part of her speech.

She is a terrible speaker IMHO she babbles and makes little sense and comes off as not very bright.

Marilyn so when she was doing the Obama pals around with terrorists speeches and people in the crowd were chanting to Kill Obama she was lashing out at the people who say nasty stuff about her kids?  Not buying it.

Hillary Clintons daughter Chelsey was the butt of more jokes than all the Palin kids together and Hilary and Bill were both able to make intelligent speeches...why is that?

And if you remember correctly Obama told HIS SUPPORTERS to lay off the kids and families.

Sandy (Site Psychic™) Knauer Jul 6, 2009, 1:18am EDT

Once again, Marilyn says whatever comes to mind whether or not there's a grain of truth in it.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:30am EDT

Sandy she has been on a roll today.

She was "debating" with Eric on another thread.  The jist was this.  She was upset that Palins kids were being attacked.  Eric pointed out to her that Obama made a speech telling his supporters to back off the kids and families and this was her response.

"But I was suggesting that he could have mentioned that the false accusations against Palin were also wrong.  But I realize he's not man enough for that."

If there was a delusional Hall of Fame......

Spartan * Jul 6, 2009, 1:49am EDT

The divine Miss M. wouldn't know reality if it bit her on the ass!  A. Palin's prompter was NOT broken.  B. All presidents have used prompters since they were invented back in the 60s. C. I have "NO WORRIES" about a former Editor of the Harvard Law Review, and former Constitutional Law Professor being able to"put two sentences together"!  Contrast that with the 18 minute ramblings of Palin! LOL

I am STILL convinced there are people in this country who just can NOT stand the fact that there is a black man in the White House...and what is MORE galling to them is that he is one hell of a lot smarter than THEY are!

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:55am EDT

Spartan, you're wrong.  The teleprompter was not working at the RNC.  I watched the whole thing.  That's why Rudy spoke longer than he was supposed to - the teleprompter wasn't working.  And it wasn't working for at least the first half of Palin's speech.  Sorry, buddy.  You're wrong.

And, we'll have to agree to disagree on the Prez.  Without a teleprompter he's one of the worst speakers I've heard in a long time.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:55am EDT

And I don't give a care what color he is.  It matters not to me.

Linda B. Jul 6, 2009, 11:34am EDT

Marilyn, Palin's speech at the RNC was the most coherent one she's ever given--and it was written well in advance of that night and heavily rehearsed. In contrast, if you read the text of the speech she gave Friday, there are multiple sentence fragments and run-on sentences with multiple clauses that do not modify each other--it is, indeed, incoherent. And that is also evidence that it was written hurriedly and not rehearsed.

Go buy a grade-school level grammar textbook, a box of red pencils and make an effort at parseing her speech. Stream of consciousness is a difficult style to pull off in the fiction genre where the reader willingly suspends disbelief--but it is not appropriate for use in speechwriting, nor can it ever be assumed that the audience is sympathetic.

Marilyn, you obviously feel some sort of connection with Palin that the rest of us do not. I can respect that--to each his or her own--but not such an illogical, emotional demand as the one you wrote in reply to my statements about her writing ability.

"Linda, I dare you to have to give a speech and be nice when you'd like to lash out at the creeps who attacked your children. "

Marilyn, is this the only defense you can offer?  Cry out "why don't YOU try it?" What does that have to do with her speechwriting capabilities? Palin has a degree in journalism and the speech she delivered Friday leads me to question 1) whether she learned anything during her quest for a sheepskin, and 2) the judgement of the College Board who awarded it to her. There is a certain amount of competency expected when one has a college degree, particularly when the skill required is the one which the student studied in order to acquire the degree. The speech she gave Friday showed a spectacular lack of facility with the English language and of her topic-politics.

I still say I am hoping that she is quitting to stay home and work with Trig.  (I will also urge her to rename the child.)

(((smiles)))

Wilka

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:01am EDT

Wilka the thing that I dont understand is this.

If she quit to spend time with her kids she is applauded by the Republican woman for doing the right thing and being a Mom first but if she runs in 2012 she will be applauded by those same woman for doing the right thing...so what happens to the kids?  She will be away from them more than when she was governor or does she plan on spending the next 3 years with them and then give them away?

Grems 'gremlin' Jul 6, 2009, 8:35am EDT

Wilka:  the tough point in all of this with Trig is he needs the help and support of all the family.  As he matures, he will need different types of assistance and it may not need to be parental assistance.  However, she needs to be there now to assist with the therapy he should be recieving through Early Intervention.  I certainly hope she is doing this.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 12:58am EDT

Berf no its pretty much a given if the incumbant pres runs than they get that parties nomination.

gee it is so wrong  she just quit,  yet it is better to be so negitive to folks,  and they are always wrong  and you are alway right,

oh oh I maybe a palin pusher,  opps I better shut up

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:06am EDT

The thing is Steph that I listened to her speech and couldnt for the life of me figure out why she is quitting and what she plans to do now.  And why she felt to let the people that elected her down by giving up on them.

If she would have just came out and said I am resigning to focus on the 2012 presidental race then it wouldnt be as big of a deal but her cryptic ramblings made her the butt of even more jokes.

If the governor of Iowa did this to us after I voted for him he wouldnt get my support for dog catcher let alone president.

Lori, great point.  I've heard the same rumors as well.  I should e-mail some of my relatives up north and see what the buzz is up there.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:03am EDT

If you hear anything let me know I am curious as to what is going to happen now and what people that are saying there.

Personally, I really don't think that Palin will run....

(But, what the heck do I know??)

Even if she does, I think it will be a sort of GOP experiment to test the waters for 2016.....

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:09am EDT

Berf if things with Obama keep going the way they are and his popularity doesnt take a complete nose dive and Palin does run in 2012 then I kind of feel sorry for her.  She will be a sheep thrown to the wolves and that right there would guarantee the end of any future political career.

The Repubs are not going to put a serious candidate in against an extremely popular president.

''The One & Only BERF" .. Jul 6, 2009, 1:13am EDT

"The Repubs are not going to put a serious candidate in against an extremely popular president."

That's what I meant.

I think the GOP will just look at it like "Whadda we got to lose??" and try to "get creative", ya might say....

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:16am EDT

Yes sad isnt it berf.  I would have more respect for her if she said screw this find yourself a new candidate and walked out.  But I dont think she is bright enough to figure out that by getting the nomination she is signing her own political death certificate.

Sandy (Site Psychic™) Knauer Jul 6, 2009, 1:16am EDT

I don't think it's the rumors that are defaming this woman. She's done a good job of that with the truth.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 1:20am EDT

Sandy you are very right.  No one could invent a rumor that would do more damage to her character then she does everytime she opens her mouth.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:48am EDT

Y'all are so funny.  As I said before, she speaks far better than Obama who uses "ummmms" and "uhhhhhs" when his teleprompter hits a snag or when he can't use one.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 1:49am EDT

And she speaks truth as well, unlike our President.

Sandy (Site Psychic™) Knauer Jul 6, 2009, 2:01am EDT

Marilyn, I am quite certain all thinking people know you are full of hot air. However, in case some young person, or someone who just fell off the turnip truck yesterday happens along, you can be certain I will call your BS every time I see it. Do you honestly feel good about yourself when you spew ridiculous crap that is not true? I've seen Barack Obama speak, intelligently and coherently, without a telepromptor or note. When you make statements to the contrary of what others have witnessed, you look downright stupid.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 3:54am EDT

Really, Sandy?  When might that have been?  Perhaps it was when all the questions and the people asking them were preselected so that he could practice looking smart?  Even liberal media is getting fed up with that.

Linda B. Jul 6, 2009, 11:42am EDT

Marilyn, those 'umm's and '..er's are called pauses and are techniques used in timing the delivery of a speech. Something Palin obviously doesn't remember how to do, despite having a degree in broadcast journalism.

Sorry to spoil all your fun folks, but you were all WRONG!!!

NOW READ THIS!!!Palin IS NOT Under Investigation by the FBI

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 12:10pm EDT

NOW READ THIS

THE FBI ISNT THE ONLY ENTITY THAT CAN AND DO INVESTIGATE AND THROW PEOPLE IN JAIL.

Marilyn M. Jul 6, 2009, 5:52pm EDT

Well, that's true, Lori, but all over blogosphere, "they" were saying that Palin was under investigation by the FBI.  Are you going to start a new rumor since this one isn't true?

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 11:48pm EDT

Marilyn it was all over the internet that she was being INVESTIGATED.  Draw your own conclusions.

Marilyn M. Jul 7, 2009, 12:22am EDT

You bet, Lori.  Let's see.  My conclusions are that some left wingnuts are scared to death of Palin because 20% of our total population loves her, and 60% of the Republicans.  That fear has driven those left wingnuts to make false claims against her and those false claims have been proven false.  The 13 ethics complaints have been debunked.  There is no FBI investigation.  Palin has done nothing wrong...other than being a wonderful middle class woman who is intelligent and didn't go to Harvard or Yale.  She scares the crap out of the Dems and they'll continue to do anything they can to keep her from doing her job as governor.  She did the right thing leaving so the left wingnuts will stop the  foolishness and Alaska won't have to keep paying unnecessary attorney's fees for her.

My conclusions?  I think she'll get a TV gig at Fox where those who are not yet in love with her will be and then when she runs for President, it will be a landslide.

Interesting thread and it proves that we all hear what we want to hear. Some hear Palin as being genuine and a terrific off the cuff speaker. Others find her incoherent at best. The same can be said about President Obama. I could care less if he uses a teleprompter or not. It's the thoughts behind his speech that matter to me, not whether he has a verbal tic and says 'umm' once in a while.

If HOW a person delivers a speech indicates how well they would do as a President then why aren't we electing Oscar winning actors to the White House? (And Regan doesn't count - he never won an Oscar ... hehe). They can deliver speeches with passion right from memory. They know where to add inflections, how to use their voices to emote and how to use their facial expressions. True talent.

No sir. I prefer to look beyond HOW they deliver their message to the message itself.

But that's just me.

Spencer T. Jul 6, 2009, 7:33am EDT

I agree. Since I missed her resignation speech (if sh egave one) I have no idea why she resigned and will wait to hear more of her reasons. I was busy fishing.

Lori F. Jul 6, 2009, 8:37am EDT

Spencer I did watch her resignation speech and I still have no idea why she resigned.

Grems 'gremlin' Jul 6, 2009, 8:39am EDT

N.K.  You bring up several good points.  We all have our moments of good and not so good public speaking.  However, as you have said NK.  It is what happens next that tells the real story.

The more someone denys political rumors the more they turn out to be true. If the F.B.I. statment is true, that does not mean she isn't being investigated by someone.
