Your arrival sends me dancing in the rain
and ameliorates history.
In silence after the storm,
my smile returns.
Wine fills my cup,
wiping away despair.
Gracious prayers fill the air.
No more wasted days drowning
in deception.

happy 4th
Thanks, Jules. Same to you.
This is a hard one to understand. Joy at his return . But you consume another pill to forget how to feel. Maby I'm not seeing what you see. Sorry.
It's just a random musing. Thanks for trying, Howard.
Ahh, the ups and downs... I've been there, and yes, it's hard, (very hard) to forget. I'm wishing though, for you to be free.
Marilyn
Thank you, Marilyn! Somehow I hoped it would resonate with one of my friends.
It is raining today here and i enjoy ur poem a rare blend of extreme emotion, I refrain from sharing my great appreciation for ur poetic talent
Hi Doc! This is a journal entry, not a finished poem. Thank you for your unbridled support. :))
The first seven lines are a perfect poem. The rest could be the theme for a different poem. Moving imagery here.
Thank you, cousin, embrace.
Opportunity and Serendipity: it sounds as if you have lost chances along the way. I hope you have good entries for your journal soon. The detours and losses have tended to bring me down at times. The sun also rises.
Great JJ! (but now you have me thinking) I can feel this poem to my core.
Most perfect. Now that life is here, you enjoy it:)
DNA of a soul
it is very poetic for a journal entry. Great write.
Wonderful, life is to be embraced.
