This investigation has been in the works since last October with some Wasilla residents told to keep it under wraps under the investigation was complete. It seems that the Palins were building their house at the same time as a sports complex was being built in Wasilla and they both have the exact same windows, pretty much all the materials are the same.
Could this be the reason for Governor Palin's abrupt resignation and on a holiday week end at that? Why would she just step down so suddenly? On some blogs this is already being called the "Iceberg Scandal" and "Iceberg Gate" lol
I knew we hadn't heard the last of Sarah Palin. I had just hoped it would have been something on a more positive note.

As Sarah shared, she has been inundated with lawsuits ever since her name became a national one. One has to wonder who is behind this and of what they are so afraid.
I'm not sure it matters who is behind this. I am going to be so disappointed if this rumor is true. I had such high hopes for Sarah Palin. I hope that she can produce some receipts or records from when their house was being built.
Todd claims that he and his buddies built the house but I really hope that they didn't get the materials as some sort of a kick back for the contract for the Sports Complex.
If there were any truth to this, don't you think that lamestream media would have jumped on it long ago? There have been all kinds of accusations thrown at her and her family since she became a household name. It's sad.
Any case should be fully documented and investigated before the media get to influence any outcome.
If this is true, she deserves to be smoked. So far none of these rumours of such corruption have done anything but cost her and the state of Alaska money to rebute. Guess we'll see.
I hope it isn't true but it's not looking good.

Her explanation for her resignation simply is not adequate. It just doesn't ring true. I believe some scandalwill come to fore.

It's spreading on the web but no major news source yet.
I also read on several of the sites thats mayor of Wasilla Palin blocked a new requirement involving the public filing of building permits in Wasilla. This act successfully kept many of the details of the Palin home secret until now.
I've also seen pictures of her house and the sports complex and the windows do look alike. But that doesn't really prove anything.
The company that was awarded the contract for the complex also sponsors Todd Palin's snowmobile team.
My thoughts are that Wasilla was such a small town that maybe there just aren't that many building contractors or building supply companies around. Maybe several of the houses built around that time had similar style windows.
I don't know. But I'll keep looking into this story. I really hope she hasn't done anything unethical.

She was attacked from day 2 and it will continue. Still does not justify quitting. Let's look at the dollar amount spent by the state vs. the state budget. We will be talking about 0.001% in the grand scale of things. If she can't defend herself and work, then she did the right thing. However that makes her look bad for higher office.
I have to wonder whether she's taken heed of even the Republican pundits' urging that she gets down to some solid studying of issues, and just can't spend that much time devoting herself to such while she's still governor. On the other hand, if that is her real reason for abdicating, I don't also see it as a viable way to prepare for a run in 2012. That also would deem her as less than capable of leading the free world. I see her strong points, and I do feel that she's been maligned beyond any measure of rationale, but I don't also feel that she's presidential material. Is she less presidential material than our current Russian envoy? I don't think so, but in different ways she is no more or less the choice for what America needs to get us out of this mess.
I really doubt, though, that she has done anything that is untoward in this situation, and the truth will out.
