We went to see "Proposal" this week. It stars Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, and has a great role by Betty White.
I have to admit that I thought that Bullock and Reynolds made a strange couple, but I think they used it well in the movie. Bullock is an editor and Reynolds is her long-suffering assistant. He knows everything about her life and she knows nothing about him. When she learns that she'll be losing her job on being deported to Canada, she blackmails Reynolds into marrying her. They leave for his home in Alaska for the weekend and begin to get to know each other and themselves bettter.
Betty White appears as Reynolds' 90 year old grandmother. She is delightfully funny. There are a lot of familiar faces in different roles.
I laughed and I cried, which is the sign of a good movie for me.
