I decided I would start a series of "Notable Child Abuse Survivors" When I started doing my research I couldn't believe how many there was.
Many of us know the song Brahm's Lullabye. A famous song many of us hear in hospitals today when a baby is born, that we sang to our own babies. But how many of us really know about the famous German composer behind the song?
Johannes Brahms use perform piano in bars. His parents used the prostitutes in the bar as his "child care". It was there in those bars he was molested over several years by the prostitutes.
Latter in life he confessed he was unable to relate to woman, as well unable to perform sexually. He did develop a close relationship with a friend's wife after his death. He confessed his love for Clara though they never married. He was never married or developed a relationship with another woman.
He died in 1897 at age 63, cause of death was listed as degeneration of the liver.

That is very sad
Many of my friends fall into this category.
Renee this is an excellent concept. profiling survivors. You should make a group for it. I would join.
Kind of puts things in your life in perspective.
I was just thinking about it, you read my mind.
wow. I never realized how far back child abuse started.
I think its always been around just people never talked about it.
So, in the way that it is so often battered into our minds that children who might have been considered candidates for abortion turned out to be marvelous producers of wonderment, are you saying we ought to be encouraging child abuse?
Who has said anything about encouraging child abuse? The reason for these articles are to open peoples eyes that it happens in all wakes of life. That you can still make something out of yourself even though you was an abused child.
This is a beautiful song. I love the misic. If you start your group please let me know
Working on it now about to send out invites

I like the idea of starting a group. I think it would be very healing to know that there are so many successful people who have survived the direst of circumstances.
I agree, I think you and many others will be shocked at some of the names on the list.
I never knew that.
