What gets on your nerves? What are your pet peeves ?
I have a list :
How the waitress always waits until your mouth is full to ask you if you like a refill.
The barking dog, you have no idea who the owner is or even what the dog's breed is , you just hear the never ending series of barks.
Mondays, need I say more?!
The people that wait in line a restaurant in front of you for like 15 minutes with 3 or 4 kids and finally get up there and don't know what to get.
Being half way done using the bathroom and seeing that there is not enough toilet paper for you. I mean , is it that hard to replace?If there is none left then post a warning sign!
When you buy a package of 10 hot dogs and then can't find a package of hot dog buns with any more than 8 buns in it.

I hate it when people complain over and over and over about the same thing in their life that is bothering them (boyfriend, job, apartment, pet, not having enough time, etc.) BUT DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make the situation better - they just keep complaining for years on end about the SAME thing!!!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR LIFE CHANGE IT PEOPLE!!!
I also hate it when I mention the above and people say it is not that simple - my answer - YES IT IS!!! I left and abusive man when I had a 3 week old baby. I was homeless living in a battered women's shelter with a baby. Now (without a college degree) I have the best job I have had in my life making enough money to live comfortable and I have remarried and have the healthiest relationship I have had in mylife with the sweetest man I have ever met. I WANTED MY LIFE to change so I didn't WHINE about it I CHANGED IT!!!!!!!!!!! GGGRRR LOL

I am in 100% agreement with you on this Kimber...I couldn't have said it better...I too, got out of an abusinve relationship with my 6 yr old son and spent a month! at a women's shelter in OR before I could relocate back to Iowa...I am now in college, a 4.0 GPA student (at age 50) majoring in Computer Science...

Hi Martha, I'm new at Gather and found you via my new friend Kimber. I just posted a pet peeves list o' my own you may be interested in reading. I have a roomie guilty o' the TP issue, so I've learned to check before I squat!
The waitress thing, oh yes. I swear they have a waitress school that teaches that technique so they don't have to actually listen to whatever you have to say.
Agree with Kimber about people that spend so much time bitching about things, but won't take any action.
Mondays? Nope, I work pretty much every day so there's not much difference between them.
I have lately become more cynical and am starting to get really peeved at Gather commenters that just can't come up with a cogent argument about some post so they resort to personal attacks on other commenters.
Used to worry about the hotdog and hamburger bun problem, but started buying them in the "family packs" of twenty or so at a time -- same for the weiners. I can always freeze whatever I don't use.
Wow, I guess my life ain't so bad, I honestly can't think of anything else that really irks me.
I hate it when people don't empty ashtrays and they are overflowing. They are just plain disgusting.
People who don't use turn signals or turn them on a mile ahead of time.
People who ride their brakes.
People whose children are unruly in stores and they tear the shelves and racks up and then the parents don't say anything.
Ignorance......but then again on the other side of that, one could say ignorance is bliss!
People who don't discipline their children and let them run around wild.
Children who disrespect their elders.......could be contributed to my above pet peeve!
People who if you say white, they must say black. In order words, people who must disagree just for the sake of disagreeing.
Cheaters of any kind!
Those who are cruel to animals, children, old people.....in fact just plain old cruel!
People who make fun of those who are less fortunate than they are! Bullies!
