Greenbiz is reporting that Obama has unveiled new lighting and lamp standards. In the process, he notes that 7% of our electricity consumption comes from lighting our homes, businesses and factories.
With the new regulations come some of the stimulus funds that was approved by Congress earlier this year. This money will be used to "development and deployment of more energy smart buildings -- and the technology and equipment to support them." The money will be allocated to several different funds, each with different aspects.
The results that are targeted include reducing GHG emissions by about 20 million tons per year over a 30 year period (equivalent to taking 5 million cars off of the roads during that duration). The changes will also help to ease the wallets of consumers and businesses by reducing consumption. The reduction in demand will also alleviate a quite old energy infrastructure which we have seen fail such as in the Northeast a few years ago.

Does this stuff make anyone else *chuckle* in disbelief? Reduce consumption while raising taxes while increasing prices... humm, makes a person really wonder what REAL insanity would be. Yepper, people are that dumb!
lol we have Obama motors and now we have Obama lighting and fixtures, wonder whats next.
Your tax dollars at work.
Wonder if Obama World has been secured as a net name yet
I'm already sitting in the dark. What more does he want?
Is there anything else he isn't going to regulate? Christ he owns close to 10% of the former private sector NOW. Add in the 15% or more the government now is of the GDP and he's closing in on a controlling majority. Even FDR didn't dream this big.
FDR did it right by putting people to work on infrastructure. Obama is just trying to be a Bush clone playing crony with the stock market.
Has anyone got their dividend checks yet from our stock purchases?
