A Grand Old Flag and a Grand Old Day
I've always loved the Fourth of July. I love the neighborhood kiddie parades and the family barbecues and wearing red, white and blue. I especially love the traditions associated with this special day, like fireworks, beer, picnics, baseball, and public and private events honoring our great nation.
Let's have a Gather sing-along, in honor of our country's birthday .. if you don't remember the words, I posted them below. Ready?

You're A Grand Old Flag
Music and lyrics by George M. Cohan
http://kids.niehs.nih.gov/lyrics/grandold.htm
(Simple Version)
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

I'm high flyin', too...but only after I catch a good buzz.
I don't think I've sung that since high school, but the melody came right back to me, LOL! Nice capture of the flag...remember that game?? ;-)
