Time lies beneath me
Like a river running into the stream
And has no real meaning
Except to keep flowing anyway
I lie down beside time
And wonder how to make it mine
Somehow it just slips away
Quietly screaming in its own funny way
This time I find so endearing
It's voice ever so piercing
And figuring out which way to go
While time lies above and not below
Time sings a haunting melody
Dancing to its tune for all to see
Ever endless and ever beginning
Flowing between reality and dreaming

Huh -- that's what they say about me!
Yes, time is a mysterious, evil wench, moving too fast for my personal comfort. Well-done.

When you write, you do so with such grace and beauty. I can't describe how this makes me feel, but I enjoyed it immensely. Featured in The Poet's Circle. Thank you, Beth!
Thanks Jen! Your critique really means a lot to me. I've really been slacking off writing poetry, but I intend to get back into the swing of things. I am very flattered you featured me!
Your poem is an instant classic in my book. It makes me never want to age and stop procrastinating the fun I can have this summer. :))

Thank you Dawn and Lynn, I appreciate your nice feedback!
I went to the group and then to your page. This poem is brilliant. It sings gracefully and cleverly about our flowing continuum. Please consider joining my group, Poet's Weekly Muse (www.weeklymuse.gather.com) and posting your poetry there.
I would love to feature this one.
