This is another of my patterns I am making free this summer. I plan to make about 3 or 4 more free as well so those who are interest keep an eye out over the next few weeks :)

Cocoa Bear
Materials:
WW yarn:
about 5 oz brown
3 oz. blue
small amount variegated
small amount light blue
small amount black
Crochet hook size F
Crochet hook size G (for overalls)
Fiberfill
Yarn needle
Finished size = 12" tall not including ears.
Gauge- With size F hook- 4 sc = 1 inch, 4 sc rows = 1 inch.
With G hook, 7 sc = 2 inches.
Notes: Join each rnd with a sl st in first sc of rnd.
Work with crochet hook size F unless otherwise indicated.
Body
Rnd 1: With brown yarn and starting at bottom of body, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (40 sc)
Rnds 7 - 16: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 17: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (30 sc)
Rnds 18 & 19: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 20: (Sc in next 3 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnds 21 & 22: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 23: (Sc in 2 next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 24: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Head
Rnd 1: With brown yarn and starting at top of head, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join, ch1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 6: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (30 sc)
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (36 sc)
Rnds 8 - 12: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.

Rnd 20: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 21: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Stuff head and body sections firmly. Sew head and body sections together.
Legs (Make 2)
Row 1: With variegated yarn and starting at sole of foot, ch 5, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs, 2 sc in last ch, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rows 2 - 5: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Rows 7 - 9: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 10 - 11: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over last 2 sc, changing to brown yarn in last step of last decrease of row 11, ch 1, turn. Break off verigated yarn. (4 sc)
Row 12 (this row starts side of foot): With brown yarn 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc, continue working around outer edge of sole, work 10 sc down outer edge of sole to starting ch, work 2 sc in first ch of starting ch, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last ch, work 10 sc evenly up next edge of sole, join in first sc of row 12, ch 1, turn. (32 sc)

Rnd 13: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 14: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 10 sc, (decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) 3 times, sc in next 10 sc, join, ch 1, turn. (27 sc)
Rnd 15: Sc in next 21 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, join, ch 1, turn. (25 sc)
Rnd 16: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) twice, sc in next 19 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, join, ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Rnd 17: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 16 sc, (decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) twice, join, ch 1, turn. (19 sc)
Rnd 18 (this rnd starts leg): Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 19: Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, join, ch 1, turn. (21 sc)
Rnds 20 - 25: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 26: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Stuff legs firmly and sew to bottom of body in a standing position.
Arms (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With brown yarn and starting at paw, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (21 sc)
Rnds 6 & 7: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 8: (Sc in next 5 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 9: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 10: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 11: (Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (14 sc)
Rnds 12 -19: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
*stuff arm at this point*
Rnd 20: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Add more stuffing to arm if necessary. Sew opening at rnd 20 closed and sew arms to side of body over rnd 22.
Muzzle
Rnd 1: With brown yarn ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnds 4 & 5: Sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Sew muzzle to center of face over rnds 13 - 18, stuff before closing.
Ears (Make 2 variegated and 2 brown)
Row 1: Ch 3, work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc in next ch, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 2: Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in each next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in each next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc, fasten off. (12 sc)
Holding one variegated ear piece over one brown ear piece, and working through both sections, join brown yarn through first sc of row 3, ch 1, 2 sc in same sc as joining, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in each next 4 sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in last sc, leaving a 10" length of yarn for sewing, fasten off. (18 sc)
Sew opening at bottom of ear together, then sew ears to sides of head over rnds 2 -6.
With a length of black yarn, embroider nose onto upper muzzle then embroider mouth under nose.
With another length of black yarn, embroider eyes over muzzle.
Overalls
*work all parts of overalls with size G hook*
Front of Overalls
Row 1: With blue yarn, and starting at waist of pants, ch 25, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rows 2 - 10: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, dc in next 4 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next 6 sc, decrease 1 sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (22 sts)
Row 12: (this row starts first pant leg) Sc in next 10 sts, dc in next st, leave remaining sts unworked, ch 1, turn. (11 sts)
Row 13: Sc in first dc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (15 sc)
Rows 14 - 16: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 17: Sc in each sc across, fasten off.
Second Pant Leg
Row 12: Rejoin blue yarn in next free sc of row 11, ch 2, dc in same st as joining, sc in each remaining sc across, ch 1, turn. (11 sc)
Rows 13: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in dc, ch 1, turn (15 sc)
Rows 14 - 17: Repeat rows 14 - 17 of first pant leg.
Front Bib
Row 1: Join blue yarn in first ch of opposite side of starting ch at row 1 of pants. Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, sc in each remaining ch across, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rows 2 - 6: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (14 sc)
Row 7: ( Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) twice, sc in next 6 sc, ( decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) twice. Fasten off. (10 sc)
Back of Overalls
Row 1: With blue yarn, ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Rows 2 - 10: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (20 sc)
Row 12: (this row starts first pant leg) Sc in next 10 sc, leave remaining sc unworked, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 13 - 16: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 17: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
Second Pant Leg
Row 12: Rejoin blue yarn in next free sc of row 11, ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in each remaining sc across, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 13 - 16: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 17: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
Back Bib
Row 1: Sk first 6 chs of starting ch of row 1, join blue yarn in next ch, ch 1, sc in same stas joining and in next 9 chs, leave remaining chs unworked, ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 2 - 4: Sc in eac sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 5: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
With a length of blue yarn sew the front and back pant sections together from row 1 down to row 17.
Sew inside seam of pant legs together.
Straps
First Strap
Row 1: Rejoin blue yarn in first sc of row 5 of back bib, ch 1, sc in same sc as joining and in next sc, leave remaining sc unworked, ch 1, turn. ( 2 sc)
Rows 2 - 7: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 8: Sc in each sc across, leave a length of yarn for sewing fasten off.
Second Strap
Row 1: Skip next 6 sc of row 5 of back bib and rejoin blue yarn in next sc, ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in next sc, ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 - 8: Repeat rows 2 - 8 of first strap.
Carefully bringing end of straps to front bib as to not twist the strap, sew the ends of first strap to the first 2 scof row 7 of front bib and the second strap to the last 2 sc of row 7 of front bib.
Front Pocket
Row 1: With light blue yarn, and starting at bottom of pocket ch 6, work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch, 2 sc in last ch, ch 1, turn. (7 sc)
Rows 2 - 5: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, DO NOT TURN.
Pocket edging: Continue working around outer edge of pocket, sc evenly down side to starting ch of row 1, 2 sc in first ch, sc in each ch across to last ch, 2 sc in last ch, sc evenly up side of pocket, join with a sl st in first sc of row 6. Fasten off.
With a length of light blue yarn, sew pocket to center of front of overalls covering front of pants and bib.
Back Pocket
Row 1: With light blue yarn, and starting at bottom of pocket, ch 2, work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 3 - 5: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, DO NOT TURN.
Pocket edging:Continue working around outer edge of pocket, sc evenly down side to starting ch of row 1, work 3 sc in starting ch, sc evenly up side of pocket, join with a sl st in first sc of row 6.
With a length of light blue yarn, sew pocket to back of overall on the upper left or upper right pant leg.
Cuffs (worked on rnd 17 of each pant leg)
Join light blue yarn at side seam of rnd 17 of either pant leg, ch 1, work hdc in same st as joining and in each sc around, join in first hdc. Fasten off.
Repeat for other pant leg.
Weave in any remaining loose ends.
Put overalls onto bear.
Done!
