I have had some real adventures over the years.
Copenhagen was my first really big trip. I was probably 20 or 21 when I went there. It was a charter trip put together by the recreation area where I worked. It was a charter airline and they had no hot food on board,so we landed in Iceland in the middle of the night to eat. Big steak dinner is just what I want at 3 in the morning. Then back on the plane and on to Denmark.
We stayed at a motel on the outskirts of town. I took a guided tour of the city and saw the Little Mermaid statue and the beautiful palaces. Another day I went to Tivoli Gardens. I took the bus into downtown to do some shopping another day. I did this all by myself because my roommate was too drunk to do anything. I will never understand why people travel all over the world only to get drunk.
Every night someone held a drinking party in their room. I've never been a drinker and when I travel,I like to get up early so I can see as much as possible. Of course,my drunken buddy decided to hold a party in our room one night and she told me I could go find somewhere else to sleep. Luckily two of the other drinkers on the tour let me use their room. When I went back the next morning, she had gone out on the ferry boat to Sweden and left beer bottles all over the room. You can bet that they were still there when she came back.
The last night of our trip I heard loud banging on one of the doors. It was the Danish police. They had the wrong room. It was one of our managers and his wife - the police never did find the actual room they were looking for.
On the way back,we again stopped in Iceland to eat and in Labrador to refuel. I think it took about 10 hours to get back to Boston.
The three things I remember most were how beautiful Tivoli Gardens is,the smorrebord sandwiches that are the national food of Denmark and the shower in our room. There was just a drain in the bathroom floor and no shower curtain. After taking a shower,it took all day for the floor to dry.

I've never been there. It sounds like you had a very eventful trip. The police banging on the door would have scared the crap out of me.
thanks for sharing
I was in Copenhagen with my mother for a few days summer before last. It seems like a dream now. My mother commented when we got back that it was good to hear people around us speaking in English again. I didn't think so.
