I never saw anything like this before reading this older article in the NY Times online. It was from 6/27/07.
I tried it out yesterday. I soaked my coffee grinds in water overnight and I strained it out today. Then I refrigerated the liquid and made iced coffee later. It was the best iced coffee I'd ever made. I am soaking more now.
1/3 cup medium grind coffee (the beans ground to a medium grind)
1.5 cups water
milk, to serve
In a jar, stir together the coffee and the water. Cover and let sit at room temperature overnight or for 12 hours.
Strain twice - through a coffee filter, a fine-mesh strainer or a sieve lined with cheesecloth (I used paper towels). In a tall glass filled with ice, mix equal parts coffee concentrate and water, or to taste. If desired, use milk.
Yield: 2 drinks
To make hot coffee, dilute concentrate 1:1 with waer and heat in the microwave.
Soooo good and so simple.

I generally don't drink iced coffee, but I might try this one.
My hubby likes iced coffee in the summer. He would probably enjoy this. Thanks for sharing.
Your all welcome. I adore iced coffee and before Starbucks I could never find it anywhere. This is so easy to do and you get a perfect iced coffee each time. Can't beat that! Enjoy!
