chores -
1- to the post office - I mailed out 7 books to book exchangers.
2 - filled out the hold mail card - I'll be out of town for 3 weeks
Hmm where to put this:
I ate at a local Mexican restaurant - they have a wonderful quesadilla with chicken - and salad and cheese on top - all for $4.50! There's a plus to be living in such a diverse neighborhood!
books -
1 - finished the book I'd started the day before - The Lost Painting
2 - finished the William Shatner autobiography - Up Till Now
3 - started a book I'd just received - Gabriel by Lisa Tuttle (her books often have spooky undertones - this one deals with reincarnation)
Now, for all the people who wonder how I do so much reading... look at my chore list... I do SO little else!

I enjoy retirement very much.
I love to read but can never find enough time. I become involved in one book which leads me to another. Right now I am reading about Faities, genies etc. Hoping to get a handle on how to bring them into my life. Also reading about Frank Llyod Wright and have become interested in Ellen Key - can not find any of her books in print.
I loved the story about Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress... although the ending was horrible.
I agree... one book leads to another - one wants to follow up on various details and know MORE.
I need to pick reading back up.
most of the books I review are available - sometimes I pass one or two on to a friend, but mostly I just post them on the book exchange sites.
So, speak up if something intrigues you.
for all my life i was an avid reader.........until i had the first stroke......now my attention span is toooooooo short.......blast it... i miss settling into a good book..... pif
are you able to focus on books on tape (aka CDs, now)? I find my mind would wander with them, but others find them enjoyable.
I used to read several books a week but have gotten away from reading......I need to get back to do more of it!....It sounds like you are enjoying your retirement.....PIF
I absolutely love reading and have finally made more time for it......just finished reading a great Amish fiction book and am going to write a review here shortly.........am on the second book in that series right now. Sounds like you're enjoying retirement!
I'm glad that you are enjoying your retirement. I would love to find time to read. *pif
This post reminds me to open another book. I've been writing a play and haven't been able to read because once I open a book I get little done until I read the last word of a book.
I find it easier to put a book down to get something else done. Maybe because I am saturated.
What's the play about? I have a few family members who write plays... often they prefer to write with a partner - two people sending ideas back and forth.
Very nice.

I can't be retired right now (nor for a long while, if ever) but I try to enjoy a bit of each day. Why wait? PIF
you live a great life.
Now I want a quesadilla! pif
