"It's Better to Keep HOPE ALIVE"

Can you catch a glimpse
of this
or smell a wiff of this
before "too late"
takes effect
Maybe not
being said slightly
above a whisper
to prove
rebellion is ALIVE
and solitude can't hide
Only if we "think" so
and given that we like to "think"
"Stink" is unavoidable
it seeps in
when brain cells fry
and spirit begins to die
a slow death
Only to dance on hot coals
that add not comfort to the
soles
of feet burning
for a place it can't have
in this lifetime
and maybe not the next
if there is one
Do you "think"
there may be a
next?
In body
slightly different
from yours?
I hope so
wish so
expect so
Even if I know not when
or how
or even WHY
It's better to
Keep HOPE ALIVE.

Knowing how I love your writings Thomas, I thank you ~ {BIG smiles!}.
That is very cool -- it's like a dance of fire through the world of contemplative poetry! Great message too -- thanks for sharing this and keep up the fine work!
Oh Visionaerie ~ I like what you've said! I'll have to use that line . . . "It's like a dance of fire through the world of contemplative poetry!" ~ Visionaerie B.
CONTEMPLATIVE POETRY is my favorite genre in the world of poetics.
I thank you for taking the time to read and comment. You know how I always look forward to hearing your "thoughts'.
Your Friend,
Rene
Neat how you put this poem together.
Thanks Shirley!
I almost died because of my lack of hope. I thought my life was over as it had been all down hill. There is not much to look forward to, when you lose all hope. It is my faith in the hope in the promises of Jesus that keeps me going on.
Great poem, good imagery!
Do keep HOPE ALIVE Heather. You are right that there is not much to look forward to when a person loses "HOPE". It is HOPE that is always available, always ready and willing to spring forth out of nowhere to spark the life embers within.
Your FAITH in the HOPE in the PROMISES of Jesus Christ will ALWAYS keep you going ~ For God cannot fail.
Thank you for adding your thoughts and for your sweet remarks about these poetics and the imagery.

Hope can be so many things. We can believe and hope in healing, but it may not be what we expect as we will all be healed of all earthly ailments when we rejoice in Heaven with the Lord.
Hope in better tomorrows sometimes goes hand and with concentrating on the good and not the bad. We can't have better tomorrows if we don't see the miracles in our lives.
Sometimes what we want in life are not good for us and it is in the Lords wisdom that we live. He want's to give us the delights of our hearts, but we need to be realizing that the delights of our hearts may not be in line for being good things for us that may end in dire consequenses for us. We may desire large amounts of money, but it may change us and we may not have the joys we currently have if we were to receive a large amount of money.
Faith and hope is what is important. For without faith in the Father that his wisdom supercedes all knowlege we can lose hope, for we want what we want and are sometimes short sighted at the great picture.
This is a good discussion that everyone is having, you indeed sparked a good one.
Hugs,
Heather
God has "permissible will" and "His perfect will". What is "permissible" is not what is "perfect".
It is God's LOVE for us that allows some things to occur in our lives. Although it is not God's perfect will for us.
It is akin to letting your children continue to eat candy knowing that if they do not care for their teeth properly, it will one day lead to trips to the dentist that may be painful and costly. But you let them have the candy because they want it and they whine.
What we "want" and "whine" for is not always BEST for us.
Thank you Heather ~ and BIG HUGS back!
I just love your poetry
without hope, what's the point of anything? loved the poem
PUTUL, Carol and Dawn ~ Thank you three friends of mine for reading this and adding your input.
I like what you said PUTUL ~ "Hope is really the need of the day."
So TRUE.
Carol ~ With friends like you, I could write, and write, and write with MUCH JOY! Thank you.
HUGS Poet Dawn.
Wonderful piece. This is my first experience reading your poetry and I'm so impressed that I am nearly speechless. Thank you for posting to our group and I concur.
Oh Jen ~ Your comments do my heart GOOD. I thank you. You know how much I admire your poetics. Your work leaves me speechless and shouting at the same time ~ L O L!
I've not been writing a whole lot, and then BAM! ~ The Spirit moved me to WRITE. . .
I always GO with the FLOW, so you'll SEE a lot more of poetics while I'm fueled.
And, you are welcome. I LOVE your Group! I'm among kindred spirits in your Group.
Hope is a hard word sometimes if you work in health care. It has deep intent and sometimes carries unrealistic expectations.
I have to agree, Karen. Sometimes it can be hard to maintain hope....but if you dig deep enough, it is there.
So true Renda. Sometimes hope just hovers above a difficult situation and brings us to raise our eyes. Sometimes you have to dig very deep to find the part that is hope.
Medical FRIENDS of mine ~ Renda and Karen . . .
I really admire you both for the work that you both do. I admire your "gifts" and "talents", and I am especially glad to have you two as "friends". I'm very thankful and grateful to you both for all of the SUPPORT that you give in so many ways.
Karen ~ You've said something that really causes me to reflect . . .
"Sometimes hope just hovers above a difficult situation and brings us to raise our eyes." ~ Karen E.
HOPE (with EYES raised) ~ what a profound statement.
The two of you have caused me to think on digging deeper to find HOPE with EYES raised....
NOW SURELY I shall find it!
True aspirations which are very rarely achieved.
hmmmmm...thinking on what you've said Haim.
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.

thanks for sharing..
Another nice one, Rene.
Thank you for reading and commenting Larry and Marie. Good to SEE you both!
Very thought provoking, Rene! Hope is a foundation, a core of so much of what I do and think. I plan to hang on tightly to its magic!
Isn't that the truth Linda K...
Thank you for stopping in to read this poetic piece and for commenting. It's good to SEE you!
HOPE being a FOUNDATION and a CORE is a good way to look at HOPE in terms of what we DO and "think". That is excellent advice to live by Linda.
