Last Monday June 22 I post this article about the Barn Swallows who nest above my front door. Mom and Dad were teaching their babies to fly, it took till Friday June 26 for them to get all four babies up and out of the nest! Mom is still feeding them, but we got to witness some great aerial displays, as Mom and Dad taught them all kinds of swoops and dives!
Now for the amazing part! After a hard day of flying, all four youngsters were resting on a branch in our Globe Willow.

I got one photo of her feeding the third baby!

At that point I thought, " I wonder where the Barn Owls are?" so I looked up and to my right, and there they were! Three of them, up till then I had only seen two! I was amazed! How often in a lifetime do we get this kind of honor!

This one was sitting down closer to where the baby Barn Swallows were perched!

These two were up much higher, and more to the right of where the lone Barn Owl was! Did we have two families of birds sitting in our tree at one time?I hope you enjoy the photos, hubby and I wonder if our Barn Swallow pair will lay more eggs this year, if so I will keep you posted!

It has been alot of fun this year!
Wow. What a great experience. I'm envious.
I just feel honored that they trust us!
Lucky. I love the families of birds that start their lives in our little house in our little tree in our front yard.
It's almost like being an aunt or uncle huh!
WOW! That is something.
Thanks for stopping by Gul!
WOW! How lucky you are. I was so thrilled last month when a robin built her nest in a pot on my balcony--I watched her build it, watched the eggs, then the hatchlings, and got to see two of the babies fly away. Now it's a wren who has built a nest in a different pot, four eggs, and they just hatched. What a wonderful experience it is to witness Mother Nature. Good photo essay--well done.
Very lucky indeed! I love living out here! No people just Gods Cathedrals and the animals!
Wow! You guys are quick! LOL! I find it amzing that these types of birds trust us enough to hang around!
These are really cool! It must be so exciting to see all of this up close and personal.

Nice photos!
That is so cool. Thanks for sharing such amazing pics.
Amazing! Do barn owls eat barn swallows?
Well, from what I can find, probably not at least usually. They eat mostly small mammals but bird remains have been found.
I've seen the swallows attack the owls, they are much quicker and fly circles around larger birds!!
That I believe!
