With the change in the points system I am going to start trading comments one for one (If you comment on the same post two or three times it still only counts as one. there are just too many people to read to allow for more) and only reading what I like or appeals to me. If you are on my friends list and want me to view and comment on what you write please comment here so I can add you to the new friend set i will be viewing on my home page as of Monday.
I asked Gather to delete all of the groups I own except for four of them. I am just trying to free up time for meeting new people and giving the people that read my posts the attention they deserve. Thanks to everyone for your time.

I think you are the guy for this idea: Create an Assignment group-where each member picks a name (picks a #, you give em the name)- then each player-Yes i am a player- could do ten aricle views. We could do this once a day and then each of us would be commiyyed to doing a profile check and selective commenting. This would gain everyone some respect in that all learn to be friendly in the points game. I had a dream...you were the guy!

Well, Bryan...I agree that the point system has cahnged many peoples outlook on posting and commenting. I try to comment on as much as possible, but I get so many comments sometimes (100s per day) that it takes several days to get around to responding. So, bare with me.
Hi Bryan! I hope people stick around, and that things get better after all the changes. I'm about to head to bed, as I hear thunder rumbling in. It's getting cool outside, and I would love to open the windows, but my town is having its annual "festival" and I live across the street from the bar, which wouldn't be complete without a loud outdoor beer garden today. I guess I'll sleep to the noise of my AC instead of the noise of thunder.
Please add me or keep me, I guess I should say. We 80's people have to stick together.

I have been spending a lot of time on Austin Cushions groups - like Rating Resurrectionists and ViewMasters. I don't always comment - I read, view, and rate. :) Even with the new point system I am still getting around Gather.
This is a good idea, though. I hope it works for you.
Interesting concept. I tend to comment on posts that present interesting content, inspire people to think, and stimulate interesting comments. The point system is a by-product, especially given the dollars per hour rate of payment (McDonald's pays a lot better per hour).
The goal is to be intellectually stimulating.
Friend sets? Interesting idea. There are some people whose stuff I always try to comment on and your one of them. I don't care which friend set you put me as long as it is not the one marked Strange People. Not that I am not strange just don't like putting a label on it.

Interesting. I usually view more than comment, always around though. I never expect comment for comment or view for view. I just enjoy others points of view, pics, videos, etc. Little old social me ~ or a nosey old bag ~ whichever way you want to lok at it! =]

I am sure we'll all be readjusting to the new system in one way or another.
Then the next time the Big, Giant Head makes another change... we'll readjust all over again.
I do like the fact that when I go back to my own postings I can leave more comments on what has already been mentioned... I have no idea what this does to my point value.
I am doing the same thing Bryan. I am about to send a list of groups, I want deleted as well. This will free up more time for me. To comment to those that comment to me. It takes too long for the comment box to open for one thing. grr~ lol my poor old computer can't handle many more upgrades here. ;-) Some of my groups were just getting out of hand. I can't keep up with so many people. And them not returning the comments to me. Sounds mean I know, but with this new upgrade and points system. I have to Gather differently now.

New point system?
Tom Gerace changed the points system where writers point earnings are uncapped while those that view are limited in what they get and believe me it is very small. So less people are viewing posts and instead focusing on trying to write more and more to get points. Thanks for stopping in Donna! I will add you to that friend set too!

I always read everything of yours that comes across my feed (although I don't always comment). Summer is crazy at my house, though, so sometimes I'm a few days behind.
