After Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital this afternoon, PerezHilton.com pushed a blog post insinuating the King of Pop had faked a heart attack because he had cold feet about his upcoming tour that was set to launch on July 13th. The post though was edited and replaced with this one.
The original post was so insensitive and disrespectful about Michael Jackson's death. Below is the photo and text that the website eventually took down from PerezHilton.com:

Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance from his Holmby Hills home to a nearby Los Angeles hospital on Thursday afternoon!! Supposedly, the singer went into cardiac arrest and the paramedics had to administer CPR!!!
His mother is even on the way to visit him!!!
We are dubious!!
Jacko pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in '95 when he "collapsed" at rehearsal! He was dragging his heels on that just like his upcoming 50 date London residency at the 02 Arena, of which he already postponed the first few dates!!! Either he's lying or making himself sick, but we're curious to see if he's able to go on!!! Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!
I've spent the last three hours, hooked to the TV watching Michael Jackson coverage, absolutely shocked that the Elvis of my generation has died. Michael Jackson means a lot to me, his fans, the music community, and most importantly his family. For PerezHilton.com to make light of his heart attack completely disgusts me.
Perez, you need to apologize to Michael Jackson's family!!! You can't just edit a post and think no one will notice. It's the internet, dumba**. You of all people should know how quickly information spreads.
I'm not the only one who's angry. Twitters are outraged and encouraging others to #unfollowperez. This became one of the top trends tonight on Twitter. Those these people may have had good intentions in support of Michael, they're now discouraged because Perez Hilton apparently complained to Twitter, asking them to take the trend down. He's only making it worse. Admit you were wrong!!!

Perez Hilton has said a lot of stupid and nasty stuff before and has gotten away with it...I bet he will this time too.
The poor children involved...they aren't THAT old either.
It would seem that Perez Hilton specializes in "stupid and nasty".
perez seems to always be at the center of some kind of controversy. it doesn't surprise me he would do something this low either. he's done it before.
The whole Michael Jackson thing is still weird to me, but I've always thought Perez Hilton was a jerk for lots of reasons.
I am sure he will get away with it, but I think you are absolutely right
Well Liz, my friend, GREAT POST. THANKS FOR SHARING, because Michael Jackson might very well be one of the greatest stars that's ever lived. He choreographed and composed original compositions that not only changed the way the world listened to music, they changed music. In the 1980s we all listened to Michael but what many fail to realize is that the musicians listened to Michael too. He sung and danced his way into our hearts and he'll always be remembered as a great performer and a great entertainer. One of the greatest if not "the greatest."
MJ was certainly the best musician of all time. He broke racial barriers, helped make music videos what they are today, performed AMAZING music and had God given talent. You're right - he changed music. A lot of people believe he saved the music business in the 1980s with his record sales.
OMG I can't stand Perez Hilton!!!!! He can freakin ROT!!! He is such a drama queen and all he wants is the attention!!!
I will miss you Michael Jackson!!! I grew up listening to his music and performing to his Thriller song for a baton routine! Your music and soul will live on FOREVER!!!!
Haha, I was always trying to do the choreography to his music too. I still can't moonwalk for the life of me!
When I transferred to UM in 1970, Michael Jackson and the J5 were my idols. The music was great and Michael was so cool. I got to see them live in concert the next couple of years - once in the Pocono Mountains and once at Madison Square Garden in NY. I think I saw them live in concert about 3 other times. Michael was probably the greatest entertainer of all time. We all miss you, but your music and legacy will be with us forever.
You're so lucky!!! I feel really bad for the people who bought tickets to his London concert. It must feel so exciting to know you're going to attend his final concert tour! But so sad to know why you can't attend.
I had never heard of Michael Jackson before reading your post. Thanks for sharing!
I kid, obviously. I'm not one to support Perez Hilton; I think he's a total waste of oxygen. In his defense, though, its not like his opinion (and it was presented as such, not as a conclusive fact) is without precedent. Jackson had planned several concerts and events in the past, only to cancel or pull out at the last minute citing random medical issues. With concerns over his physical ability to pull off this big tour, its not ridiculous for people to have wondered if the same thing would happen here.
I think this is fascinating commentary on who we go for our news these days, celebrity gossip or not. When I heard the MJ had passed away it was from Amanda by way of my sister's status update on Facebook. So out of habit I went to Boston.com and CNN.com to verify. Both of these sites had headlines that MJ was rushed to the hospital under cardiac arrest, but not that he had died. It was TMZ in fact that had the story the fastest which then spread through twitter, facebook, etc... Check out the following visualization of Twitter's tag cloud during yesterday afternoon. Fascinating I think!
Oops, tried to embed a video in a comment.  Here's the link
I found out MJ had died via Facebook! Apparently Twitter and TMZ went down when the news broke.
I think Perez was being Perez and stating an opinion which is the main reason he is so popular. He has had a bad week. He did roughtly the same thing when Anna Nicole died with joking about how she had choked on a pickle or something to then being amazed that his sources were telling him she had died. The thing about Jackson was that he had pulled this type of stunt before and like a person who cries wolf one too many times people tend to jump to conclusions, sometimes wrong conclusions, but conclusions nevertheless.
Overall, I love Perez much more than I ever did Michael Jackson...there I said it, I feel at peace.
What disappoints me most is that Perez edited the blog. Like he thought no one would notice what he broke. I think he should have pointed out he made a mistake and created a fresh post with his edit.
Hilton is such a boor-to me, he's the gay version of Rush Limbaugh!
never think ill of the dead what to speak
Ugh. Perez Hilton is such trash.
Yup, you said it. I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it.
i second that.
