Until I went to Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta I never thought about the symbols on the headstones having any symbolism.  The Victorian headstones are some of the more elaborate that I have seen.

I love to poke around in old cemeteries.. my mom and I walked around my dad's cemetery in May for about 2 hours.
